I just had some stuff delivered. 5100’s set at zero on some 887, some TC uppers with Dakars (med) for the read. I’m running bamf sliders, RCI ifs and trans steel skids. I’m hoping to be close to factory rake. The dakars will give me 2”, where do you think the front will settle at and how far will it settle?

I put on the same setup a little over a month ago, minus the UCAs, sliders and skids. The front will settle a little but you should get near the expected lift. Don't be surprised if it's rear high at first (mine was 2.5"-2.75" higher after a month). Head Strong told me that it can take a while for them to settle and to put some weight in the back. It will smooth out the ride and may speed the settling. I got impatient and wanted less difference between front and back, so I swapped out for 888s and added TC UCAs. Now I'm a happy camper with only 2" difference and hoping for a 1"ish settled difference.

I got my lift on. 5100’s all around, front on 887’s, TC uppers and med Dakar leaf packs.

Forgot to post in here after installing 5100s and 887s about a month ago. My front 5100s were used with 10k on them from a guy that went the SAS rout. The front strut also has 1/2'' spacers that were installed on the 5100s I bouth used. Had to keep them bacause the top hat struts would have been them. I didnt realize until the struts were going in or I would have ordered new top hats and tossed the old ones. Oh well :notsure:

In the rear I went with General HD springs and 5100s. Kept the blocks to avoid a substantial bro lean...Very happy with the ride so far. Much better than stock and taller than my previous spacer lift. MY 32'' Falken Wildpeaks fit with plenty of room to spare and my 31'' Coopers (my summer tires) look kinda goofy. I put the Falkens back on a week after the lift.

I wasn't able to find much info on here about 2.7L access cabs getting this lift, so here it is I guess. I certainly provides 3'' of lift, maybe a bit more.

And I got rid of the sway bar

Did you checked the clearance between the bottom of the coils and the sway bar?

I had the same noise and that was the problem, sway bar relocation kit solved the problem.

I’m trying to figure out if the 887 with the billies set at 0 and the icon progressive leaf would level the truck? And should I take out the overload leaf? I only want to lift it about 2 inches.
I can’t seem to find any concrete info. Most guys have something or another that’s a little different. And haven’t seen pics...Or is the 885 with the progressive leaf more level?

My friends buddy said he’d do my suspension lift for me so I told him that I wanted the notch at the lowest setting. I wanted the coils to do the lifting and not the shocks. He says

“The coil is only going to change the ride height if you change the spring plate height. If you put it on the lowest setting you wont get any lift. By putting the spring plate on a higher notch position it causes the spring to push up the the shocks internal rod which in turn gives you the lift you are looking for. So depending on how many notches you have, we will either put it on the 3rd or of lift you are looking for”

Does he need to do all that?

Nah. The 887's are a longer than stock coils. Someone else help me out here, but i believe that on a 3rd gen they say that at 0 (the bottom setting) will net you about 2" of lift.

That is what I got from mine. 888’s are 5mm taller than the 887’s. 886’s are even taller but shouldn’t be run on 3rd gen 5100’s.

That is correct. Lowest setting on 887's will give you about 2" of lift no problem. I installed mine this weekend with no problem. Fronts took about an hour and a half taking my time to get it all right.

I did not install new UCA's as that was a bit more out of my comfort zone and about $1000 more. As for the alignment, I drove it home about 100 miles or so and no shaking or shuttering, so far so good. I will be getting it aligned in the morning and give you a bit more of an update, but I think I got it pretty good.

Here are my numbers and here is what I am thinking.... stock... DF- 20 5/8 ...... PF- 20 7/8.........DR- 21".....PR- 21 1/2 .... what if I got the progressive pack from icon, or headstrong so that would get me 1.5" in the rear with bilstein 5100s then for the front the OME 887 and billy's with a 2.25". I plan to add an aluminum bumper so less that 70 pounds total in the front. I think I would have a level or slightly raked truck --- this sound smart

I got 3" after settle with 887 + 1/2 top plate spacer on driver side, 1/4" on passanger side. Spc uca, heavy duty dakars. 3* shims, ecgs bushing and a toytec diff drop to help with cv angles. I had vibrations come back in the steering wheel, noticed some weights came off the wheels so after another rotate and balance everything is good again
Looking to upgrade from the heavy e rated 275/70/17 to bigger and lighter c rated 285/70/17IMG_20180924_100929.jpg

Hey there, I have a 2016 DBL cab, short bed, 4x4 and I installed Headstrong's HS16BK-1-DAKAR kit three weeks ago (i.e., 887 coils, light racing UCAs, medium duty Dakar leaf pack). I've lifted a few trucks using different configurations including Toytech and Fox Racing coilovers, but the headstrong config is the best I've ever had. The Dakar leaf pack looks like it could support 5 tons, but is very forgiving. The front assembly of 5100 strut and 887 coils ride better than stock suspension. I passed on the 3pack AAL configuration because I've used something similar in the past and it felt like the rear end was a hardtail - no suspension. Maybe that has changed. Anyway, it's a great lift, and it accommodates 16x8 wheels running 285-75r16s after removing the front mud flaps. No regerts or troubles with the lift.

If anyone is looking for a good place in the san diego area for installing the LR SPC ucas and aligning the wheels, go to Alignment Plus (http://alignment-plus.com/) in san marcos. Ray installed the entire headstrong kit and dialed in the camber/caster/toe numbers like a doctor.

Yea, i'd love to have the Dakars, but i'm trying to justify the extra +$400. I don't tow. But geeze, i've got the OG 3 leaf pack, and it doesn't take anything to make it sink down. Biggest problem is convincing my wife of the cost (since her leveling kit was like $100 for her 4runner. She thinks all lifts should cost that much)
