Why does it always come back to “well what is your build number?”

A guy called gfc about an LA delivery and was told there’s nothing. Days later a camper delivery makes its way from LA to SF Bay Area.

Now a second LA customer has unanswered questions.

How about supporting customers equally? Is that hard? In the end you’re taking their money too.

Just spoke to Elise, apparently it was one LA delivery that they drove down from the bay area for. It was probably a camper delivered for marketing or something... San Diego area should be in the next trip.

I doubt they’re trying to be lowkey about deliveries. Remember they are a small team - They have TONS of people wanting to check out the tents. I don’t think they can accommodate for everyone at once. They stated they were bringing more people on staff for customer service reps. I also bet these trips aren’t super planned out. Maybe they didn’t have time? Maybe they have campers waiting for foam and needed to get back asap?

Yes we are giving them money for campers and whatnot but patience works best. Every once and a while they’ll have more of a showoff meet which everyone is invited to. That works out a hell of a lot better than just stopping to show one person.

I know when I get mine in, I’ll post all about it and having a “meet” so anyone interested can come look at it in So-Cal.

Edit: I quoted the wrong person and don’t have time to fix it haha

I was asking about build number as a possible explanation of why they have not delivered their camper yet. As in, perhaps they had more than a truck load of campers bound for CA, and went in the order that customers paid?

We get that you have beef with GFC. Not sure why.

I don't know where in So Cal Graeme came from, and for that matter - both customers you're talking about are in San Diego not LA.

You’re saying it’s cheaper to use a personal truck to haul a trailer of campers to CA and return loaded with foam back to Montana than just having a pallet of foam shipped?

Did you think about putting it on the actual tent material? So there could be a his/her section to store stuff? I feel like it would fold and store away pretty easily too.

Would you want to make another for local sale in Portland?

You tell me what’s faster - Freight or pickup?

Maybe it’s not about cost. Time is key. They can pickup material and get tents made faster than having it freighted. If they’re already in CA, returning with an empty truck bed...why not stop and get foam that can get out campers?

If you read earlier they stated they were delayed due to foam restrictions.

Seems like the foam mattress size doesn’t change..? meaning they should know how many campers their supply will support. If they predict growth, generally you order more supplies.

Orrrr they used the designated campers foam in their RTT shipments using calculated on hand supply. Creating a deficiency. Which now burdens customers, making them wait longer.

Didn't mean to stir the pot here... I think the team is doing a great job with correspondence and the demand is still very high right now. I just want to see a GFC before I drop the $6K. They look solid, and I want to find a way to make it 100% waterproof.

I'm not sure but I think he's back on the road again next week too.

But, straight from the horse's mouth - they've hired someone to deliver so Graeme doesn't have to do the deliveries. I have no idea when he/she will be up to speed but I'm guessing that will help out a lot.

I'm anxious to get mine as well - I put in a deposit right away and paid in full the first week they accepted payments. I wasn't in the first batch because I'm a cheap F****r and didn't want to pay the extra $$ for a CC payment. And, I've still never seen one in person.

But, I see that these guys are working their ASSES off. And, even though they've been behind on their time estimates they've been straight up about everything. It's a little annoying when someone 'down list' get's theirs first - but for in person installed by the guys who designed and built it - I'll cut them a little more slack. I can imagine how tough it must be for them to see the stack of finished product in their shop just waiting to be delivered.

If anyone is in a HUGE hurry they could just suck it up and pay for the shipping. :)

My thoughts exactly. The trailer only holds a finite number of campers. If more than that number are ready for delivery in CA then there is no way to have everyone’s delivered in one trip. If the foam manufacturer is in CA it makes no sense to pay for freight to MT when it could be loaded on the now empty trailer for the return trip. Some people just want to get butthurt without bothering to find out the details.

some people will easily attempt to justify a lightweight sketchy business practice attempting to go dark on certain customers.

They're probably itching to get those RTT preorders out the door.
