I'm about getting to this point too. Unless I'm missing something ECU 30426300 still isn't supported... I wont bother @-ing OVTUne, but I have emailed him multiple times now at the Zendesk thing and no responses. *sigh*

Thanks for the response! I'm in Edmonton, so not close at all. I've been running Shell 91 zero ethanol since new, so I'll be able to notice the difference, if it makes one, as I know the feel with only 91 and no tune. Having a manual will take away the benefits of the shift point modifications of the tune, obviously. If there is no MPG increase, then that's a wash. So, I guess I'd be paying for a smoother feeling engine and a little more power above 3000 rpm, if I'm reading you right? I, usually, shift at or just under 3000 while driving in the city, so I may not be utilizing the increased power anyways. Hmmmmm, now I'm more conflictedo_O.
Might just be that the tune is best suited for the "problems" that the auto community has with the truck.

If anyone else has first hand experience, especially with a manual, that'd be awesome:bananadance:.

    Thanks for the input Brandon:canada:

@Bartlett18 I have a manual and the tune. I'm running the 91 tune. The truck does run smoother. It also has way better throttle response. Especially in the low end and off idle. Makes it a lot nicer to drive in town and slow speeds. I feel I can keep it in a higher gear when slowing with out stopping. E.g., I can actually use down to 1500 rpm and in third I can let it drop closer to 1000 rpm and re-accerate. I like that better than the down shift to second. It just seems like a big jump between those 2 years.

    Hi Russell,

thanks for that info! That sounds like something that would be beneficial and make driving the truck more enjoyable too. It sounds like the torque has been adjusted to come on sooner? (more usable power sooner and spread across wider RPM's? No more; waiting...waiting...waiting...THERE IT IS!! in the power band?) I am by NO MEANS well versed in mechanical "lingo". Have you noticed any change in MPG? By "better throttle response", do you mean a touchier pedal or the truck gets going quicker then you do use the gas? (less lag).

Your thoughts are appreciated! I, typically, do a lot of research and question asking when modifying and spending $$$, so this is very helpful.

    Thanks again,

    Barrett:thumbsup:

I might need in on this too, calibration ID 30442300 is still not recognized by the handheld. I updated it a few hours ago. I sent an email to the zendesk email.

@Bartlett18 for the throttle response I would say it's some of both. To me the bottom end feels more like what it should have from the factory. This is a large v-6 and feels like a engine of half the size below 2500-3000. That my opinion.

    @OVTune
    or anyone that knows...

Just wondering if altitude (elevation) is taken into consideration (or needs to be) for this tune?

What I'm wondering is if each persons experience will be different, based on their elevation and the tunes' reaction to it or if elevation has no effect, or is compensated for, and everyone will have the same results regardless of elevation. It might matter when asking different people from different elevations their experiences with the tune.

    Please be kind.

I'm happy to say that a few days ago Matt got me my tune.
My initial non-scientific impressions are this:
3500rpm~ to redline has noticeably more power on the 91 octane tune.
1000-3400 or so seems like it may be lacking a bit of power however. My 0-60 is still the same and the truck seems to feel more sluggish in that range.
The transmission seems to shift at more appropriate intervals as well. Overdrive doesn't happen until 30ish mph versus 25mph before. The transmission also shifts at the factory redline now whereas before it shifted a few hundred rpm before hand.
All in all it seems pretty good.
I ran the truck hardish for the first half tank of gas and got 18.7mpg. At the moment I'm driving a bit slower in order to compare my previous best mpg (20.1) to the 91 octane tune.
I haven't tested the 87 octane tune yet.

    MPG update to previous post.
After 159.0 miles and 8.0 gallons of gas I have achieved 19.8mpg with the tune on.
I had aimed to hypermile but I was late to class a couple times this week so I definitely think it can get better.
I'm going to do another mpg focused half-tank of gas then switch to the 87 octane tune and review it as well.

Note: Half a tank is 10.5 gallons. I refilled at half-ish, but will try to get closer to 10.5 till empty next time.

I feel OV Tune is focused on the 3rd gen right now and not the 2nd gen. Hopefully, soon they will give more love to the 2nd gen. I want to try this out but I am waiting on more reviews on the 2nd gen. Maybe more options will be given as I would love to learn how to tune, but would want to start with something that was a good baseline.
