Hey all, kind of new on here, have a 16 Tacoma, and been reading daily on here for upgrades and mods. Keep seeing threads regarding TSB's, do you have to pay to find out which ones relate to your vehicles? thanks.

There's no charge to look up TSBs and there is no charge to get them serviced to your vehicle if the TSB fits your vehicle specifications. You can use the search bar here and just type in 'TSB' and you can find a plethora of information. You can also ask your dealership if your feeling frisky.

FYI dealers should NOT hassle you about getting TSBs done. If they do, find another. Also, my dealer completed a TSB after my warranty expired.

To complete a TSB takes 1/2 hour of paid labor, which is like $80.

TSB are NOT required to be completed. Only if the problem exists and it can be duplicated. There are dealerships who will repair things that don't need to be repaired, but other will require you to back the need for repair.

what you said is true. I never said it has to be done. I assumed that if someone is looking at a TSB then obviously they are suffering from said symptoms, otherwise, why else bother?

correct, if you are still under warranty. I simply shared the cost for FYI purposes, just in case someone is past warranty.

There is a charge for a Toyota Service Bulletin when you are out of warranty?

    Damn....BS

Technically, yes. I mean, you are out of warranty.

that said, my dealer knows I'm a loyal customer and they offered to do for free... since it was a lingering problem. The transmission has been "an issue" since the beginning, it was not my fault that Toyota released a fix after my warranty.

It all depends on the TSB. Some are many hours of labor and a significant cost for parts.

A TSB is nothing more than a documented repair procedure for an issue frequently seen by dealership service departments. The technician should be verifying the complaint before just performing the repair outlined in the TSB.
