I ordered 100 ft. of tubing this morning so I can have materials on hand.

Nothing wrong with your tabs at all that you welded to the bed bars but just wanted to tell you about them if you didn’t know about them. Trick tabs are super cool cuz they cope onto the tube and are easy to keep square and look super clean. They’re pretty cheap too.

 

I'll check them out, I used some materials that I had on hand for those.

Figured I'd post in here what I've been working on lately.

Finally done with the trailer frame and am putting in on tires tomorrow to give it a test drive around the block.

 

I'm looking at plasma cutters now. Getting tired of cutting large amounts of plate the hard way. Anyone had any experience with the Hypertherm 30XP? That'd be the one I'd most likely get since its made in the US and has a CFM rating that works with my compressor.

 

Buy it, thank me later. Been cutting 3x5x.250 angle on 110 all afternoon.

 

Ever had any technical issues with it?

 

Hypertherm is the best Plasma out there .

Like anything now and then a board fails by far the majority of the ones we see are lack of changing the consumables or installed wrong wrong consumables for the application

Moisture in the airlines

900' extension cord on 120vac

 

Any suggestions on a proper air setup? I've currently got a compressor to support the 30xp but only have a air/water separator hooked up at the compressor end of the hose reel. I definitely don't mind spending money on a proper filter system if it will make my plasma cutter last.

 

We suggest a Motor guard M-26 filter (Something similar ) as close as possible to the plasma machine

Mine being bigger I made a bracket that sits on top the case

 

It's a Hypertherm, there are no other answers I can give you. It's the luxury car of metal cutting machines I didn't even think twice.

 

The angle on these are 3x5x.250. I currently have only 110 in the shop and cut all my pcs to length and went back and did all the angle cuts. Tapped the slag with a hammer and polished with a 2" scotch brite pad, 10 second cleanup. My plasma takes the place of a portaband, torch, and metal shear. Remember they will cut anything conductive as well.

Here’s some 3/16 plate I cut with a Hypertherm 30XP. Cuts nice but wish I would have got the 45XP. Buy once.

 

Did you create that cut where the bend is with the your plasma?

Also what makes you wish for the 45?
