    Well that didnt turn out like I planned. Got the knife and it came with S30V instead of S35VN like the description and pictures on the Amazon listing indicated. Not sure if I should just keep it or go through the hassle of returning it.

    Native 5 FRN originally is supposed to be S30V. I believe they were changing it this year or will be to S35VN. S30V is still a good blade steel, just a bit harder to sharpen. The Native 5 G10 has always had S35VN.

    I love my Native 5 G10, I have 2 of them.

    I just read the manual and it says that they were originally S35VN and made the switch to S30V in 2018. I really dont mind S30V just a little annoyed that the posting is wrong.

    I think you meant the other way around. :)

    Yeah I hear ya, I would be too. Probably dealers will still have S30V ones in stock & may not even know about the change.

    Well good thing about Amazon, no problem sending it back but who knows if they'll be able to correct the problem as they don't specialize in knives.

    That's weird & doesn't make any sense to change back to an older steel. I remember seeing a thread on the Spyderco forums about the change.

    Edit: Just found the thread & looks like that's right. What an odd change. I bet not a lot of people will be happy about that. Maybe they're trying to save costs?

    Yeah to me it seems like a downgrade, even though S30V is a great steel. I was just looking forward to having what was listed. I could have done more research and could have easily found this out, but this was kind of an impulse buy lol I definitely didnt need the knife. Had to make room for it in the case.

    One of my friends had a local fabricator make it for me. It's a pretty nice case. The face slides open and he 3d printed all the little shelves for the knives.
