Here's where you're wrong, I do have an interest in GFC. Particularly their RTT option, being as tall as i am, i am very limited with my options and the lower profile while closed interested me for my 4Runner. I seen they were teasing the RTTs on social media and patiently awaited their release or any further information that i could compare and analyse. I do think its a great option for people without trucks, such as myself and many others. There's many on this forum and close to me who know my interest in GFC RTT option was serious and genuine.

What i don't like is seeing customers who have already paid get left in the dark on night missions into their territory to make a discreet delivery which would go hopefully unnoticed. I also really don't like the number jumping of orders as well as fully paid customers being left in the dark on build dates while numbers after them have received their campers. Fielding orders on the new line of RTTs when they're overloaded with orders spreading out until mid 2019 is also a bit alarming and seemingly backwards as a business model because the 10 RTTs could have been 10 already paid campers pushed out the door. I also think its petty to offer an RTT without a ladder but then turn around and offer you some Amazon chinese ladder for $150. You cannot rely on each customer having a hatch ladder to be able to use the $3,999.00 camper you just purchased.

I would hope you're able to see as a potential RTT customer who would actually spend their own money, this would concern myself and others looking let alone worry those who already have paid in full. So by me mentioning and bringing up these items which constantly get glazed over by fanboy justifications is transparently shit talk, then so be it.

I’ll disagree on the first point based on the fact that no one here knows if that’s what happened. There are plenty of people not on this forum who have ordered and who’s orders very well could have been placed and completed prior to those others in CA. I think it’s childish to try calling someone out on it if you don’t even know what is going on. I didn’t see any attempt from GFC to keep the delivery in the dark, they simply didn’t tell customers who weren’t receiving deliveries to not expect a delivery they didn’t know was happening.

On the second point you have my full agreement. I don’t have a problem building a RTT sample for the marketing and allowing orders to be placed, but those orders should be put in the same queue as the campers since they use the same components. It’s not right in my opinion to build some RTTs for customers who just ordered at the expense of slower production on orders placed months ago.

The crew at GFC definitely needs to sort out communication with their customers.

Secondly, it wouldn't hurt to be on here explaining things more often as well. Although that wouldn't be as needed if the people asking questions/bringing up concerns on here already had answers from them directly.

On the fence about the whole RTT deal. Good marketing decision to get a few of those out in the wild, but not ideal to have it done at the expense of others. A lot would have been rectified beforehand if it was well communicated with their customers.

I clearly forgot my sarcastic font.

Who cares about any one person's opinion? As a human beings we are blessed with the ability of critical observation, analysis, deductive reasoning, and my personal favorite, bos taurus fecal filtering. IMO, anyone is in dropping the money needed on any of the campers on the market right now should be making their own opinions, not relying on someone else's opinion that certainly may be biased.

My previous post was a mild attempt at humor to bring the thread back on track.

I think the problem is we are all expecting them to be producing at least the claimed 5 campers a week, or even the claimed 10 campers a week. It's been over 7 months since the first was delivered and they got over half a million dollars in up front payments (who knows how much now with preorders). Currently they are sitting at 2 per week for the past month on average, and just a tad over 2 (2.3) per week since the first one was delivered to @inv3ctiv3 . So there hasn't been any progress in throughput looking at the numbers. I'm sure everyone waiting would like to know why. If I were to project when the 300th person will get their camper, it would be 27.5 months from now (yes, over 2 years). You guys can tell me all about how much more streamlined production is getting, but its not, look at the numbers from the past 7 months, not the hype.

Meanwhile, I should be getting my camper very soon.

    Edit: Changed weeks to months.

I blame Tesla lol. The similarities are extravagant.

Also have pity on those further on the list. Once I get mine I'm getting as far away from cell service as possible (which is deep, cause my truck has a cell tower on top of it). Veteran's day weekend can't come sooner.

    Well this thread escalated quickly.

For what it's worth, I drove the 1,200 miles round-trip to Bozeman to pick my camper up and the team at the shop was extremely polite, courteous, accommodating, and professional. They were in the early phases of building the shop out, but it was apparent they had their shit together and were buzzing around the shop from station to station, getting the orders out.

I'm only bringing this up because, typically, a shop doesn't go from that steady pace to suddenly falling off. So unless they're dealing with extreme material shortages, there had to have been a catalyst that changed their output.

Either way, there's a ton of speculation in this thread and it's becoming a bit comical to read through.

Totally, some people forget a year ago this was two guys idea with a rough business plan. And to make assumptions that Graeme is making under that radar covert runs to San Luis Obispo is frankly ludicrous.

Speculation is only fair in absence of real information.

GFC could very easily stop it by posting in here.

I'm sure they are "extremely polite, courteous, accommodating, and professional." They seem like a bunch of cool people. But, regardless of how cool they are, 2 campers a week won't pay the bills. There is also a ton of speculation, I feel like I'm a big contributor to the speculation. But there should be, we were all misled into believing that they were making 5 a week, 10 a week, etc. and our campers should be coming "next month". When in reality its been a constant 2 a week on average. I'd be worried about the quality control slipping and units are having to be reworked, that could explain why there is a consistent increase in "In Progress" without the same amount being completed. That could also explain the water leaks we've been hearing about.

Also, a shop can go from the steady pace to suddenly "falling off." Have you heard of Pelfreybilt?

Guess what? Elite Fabrication and Pelfreybilt both started the same way.
Speculation happens with lack of communication. That's not ludicrous.
