Best looking 1st gen Bug Deflector

hey guys.. So i was noticing i had a few chips and dings on my hood, and i also noticed most of them are within the first inch of my hood.. So im looking to get a Deflector to prevent further chipping and cover the old ones up, lol

But ive seen some that are huge and ugly. Ive seen a few on the road that were very sleek and low profile.. I know its not really a intricate car part, but you guys are good with this stuff, hehe...

Any idea which look the best? pics? Best prices? thanks guys..

Effective, but hideous.

It's cracked, on the passenger side only - of course, so when I get some cash I'm going to get a weathertech, EGR or AVS IIbug deflector.

 

i know weathertech makes nice stuff (as well as AVS), id love to see some pics to see which fits more snug. thanks fellahs

 

I like the stuff weathertech has to offer looking at their site. Bug deflector + driver&passenger window deflectors = gangster.

 

i saw this one somewhere on this website, and its kinda kool.. Might actually be a little TOO sleek, lol.. but wasnt sure which it was..

 

i should add i have the AVS window deflectors.. but the one model of AVS i saw was ugly, maybe it was the AVS I?

Honestly I don't know of anyone that helps keep your windshield free of rock chips. Here in Colorado they use gravel on the roads in the Winters and it doesn't matter what deflector you have. Your windshield is going to get pitted and more than likely cracked, bullseyed, etc...

So the deflector, as far as I'm concerned, is there to protect the leading edge of your hood from being abused. That one above looks like it would be effective. The only concern I'd be worried about is what kind of clearance does it have when it comes to washing/waxing/polishing, etc your hood.

That was mere moments after getting done washing, clay barring, polishing, waxing and dressing 'er up.

She's already covered in dirt and looking like the ol' truck again

I like that really sleek one you posted. It gives just enough of a line to break up the really rounded/bubbly look of the front end of our trucks.

Seriously though, that sleek one looks really really good. If I had a 2000 pre style I'd definitely go for one of those.

Not that this helps any, but the one that I bought for my '02 is stock Toyota. To me you can never go wrong with OEM. Because you can't see exactly what they look like from the aftermarket companies before you order it and what it will look like on your rig, I went with OEM on mine because I knew what they already looked like and I didn't want to recieve it only to find out that I don't like the style of it.

 

uhhh it's a bug deflector dude.. they all look the same...
