I just called and we will see what they say.

Honestly it very well might be, but with the foot prints the same between the 50 and 65 (65 only being 3" taller) I think I would prefer the extra 34 can capacity. The difference in draw is minimal between the two: 50 rating 7.8a / .77ah/h vs the 65 as 8.2a / .85ah/h.

...I guess maybe on my drive home I will stop at the store and get a couple 30 packs, and load it up with drinks and food and see where I stand with the 50.

I feel like people usually say the 50 is enough for two people, but yeah if the footprint is the same it’s nothing to really lose a few bucks. Better do it while it’s new then use it and get less out of it if you do want to sell it.

    thats my thought as well

plus i plan to use this on the boat as well,
sometimes we have upwards of 8 people total on the water with us at a time. usually take a large coleman and rtic 20 and the small cooler built into the boat.

...plus planning on a larger boat to help accommodate more people so I feel the 65 is something we can grow into, while the 50 will be perfect for now.

Please post up some pics! Haha I'm trying to get the same idea.

I have a RTIC 45 and usually its just me, but I got a trip to the Sierras for 10 days and would like to get a fridge before. Figure it would be really nice not having to deal with ice and soggy food.

I have an ARB63 and it's too large honestly for 2 person camping that i do except for extended 7-11 trips. to make the fridge run efficiently you need to keep it full so it runs less. Lets say you have 4 cases of beer, and you consume 2 cases a day. you just swap in warm drinks everytime you pull a cool one out. You don't have to have all your liquids in the cooler. and since you don't have any ICE, it's amazing how much room even a 50 offers. when you look at the extra height make sure you can open the top enough to get into it for where you are storing it. I will likely be selling mine or trading for a side opening fridge that I can access from the side of my truck's camper top. My 63" is lower and longer so it fit under a tacoma bed cover when I bought it where the ARB 50 which is taller wouldn't. Make sure yours can fit a bottle of wine upright which my 63" can.

some other tips with fridges. before your trip run the fridge in your house on AC, the basket lets you pull the stuff out so you can lift it into the truck and drop your baskets in with food/drinks separately much easier if you have to move solo. Fridge is a game changer for saving soggy food, and cross contamination like one of my friends chicken breast packet leaked and contaminated the cooler and he had to pack up and leave to clean it out and get new food.

Tacoma TRD Pro Fox shocks, removed from a 2017 Tacoma TRD PRO. These are TRD tuned oem equipment. Fox 2.5 inch internal bypass front and rears, with remote reservoir rears. They provide about 2 inches of lift for a 2nd generation and 1 inch of lift up front for a 3rd generation (leveling it out well). They offer a very smooth ride. 20,000 miles on them, they can be rebuilt when needed. $1400.

good info thanks, I think i will look into packing it for a typical weekend and see where stand.

the previous brand i was looking at opened length wise, which is why buying the CFX I decided on the 50 - not really thinking about the fact it opens width wise.

and yes, you are correct that a fridge works optimally when full.

So one side of the basket will hold 29 beers....leaving 7 for enjoyment while you pack (1 camping beer and a 6 pack of IPA).

If you bring hard stuff and mixer or just a 2 liter.....you run out of space very very fast. Then I almost feel like I need a cheap ice chest for ice when doing mixed drinks or such.

I can see both sides. Replenish as you pull and have food on the other side. I tend to overpack on food because I love to eat and tend to actually eat better camping than at home most of the time lol
