Ok, just purchased a new to me 2nd Gen 2013 TRD OR PreR. It was detailed by the dealer (ugh). Now how do I get rid of whatever the heck coconut vanilla sicky sweet smell is there?

I read through the DIY Airfreshener post thinking "crazy cats, I want mine to smell like nothing". The dryer sheet suggestion made my nose burn just thinking about it. The GentScents made me reconsider, and I might just make up a mesh bag of pine saw dust to put under the seat. (but until it's cleaned it'll just be pine coconut vanilla sicky)

But, back to the original question, how to remove whatever schmoo they put in there and where are the most likely targets? seats? carpet? Best home version steam cleaner anyone has used? (Bissell Little Green ProHeat?)

I've been running with about 3 pounds of activated charcoal in my backseat for the last week and still not gone.

I use a non scented fabreeze in mine.
Mind you, I smoke but if I expect company, i just spray a little bit on the seats and headliner and its good to good.
It doesn't mask the smell...it actually does a great job of removing it.

I'd wipe down all hard surfaces with a wet rag. Maybe even the seats. Then have the carpet and upholstery shampooed if the remaining smell bothers you enough.

I grew up with my Dad running a lumber yard, so faint cigarette smoke and sawdust smell like home. I don't know how many trusses I helped him build for houses, but probably some child labor laws were violated. It was fantastic when I finally was allowed to run the pneumatic staple gun.

Did that a few days ago, first dry microfiber then damp microfiber on all hardsurfaces, since they were shiny. I'm leaning toward carpet/seats. Hence the Bissell question.

Was just looking at that, and thought I'd quote again to see the avatar one more time. Maybe 9% Off?

I suppose the scents are some type of organic compound made in New Jersey, which the O3 would oxidize in short order.
