Ok, Im ready to wade in to the quagmire with this one...

Lifted the truck back in August (after buying it while i was station in england for 3 years) and originally had it aligned by NTB (was in a pinch and whatever). I have icons and the ride height wasnt set right, i finally set it to the correct height and have been driving on that due to a busy schedule for some time. Took the truck to get aligned at a local offroad shop here and when i picked it up the tech that performed the alignment pulled me aside. He said that everytime he would 'zero' the steering wheel it would cock off to the side again after a test drive. I understand that with me driving on a bad alignment can throw the tire wear off but its pointed to the 2:30 position.

im going to add that before i did the lift i would here the clock spring do some funny things while i was in england. i dont think that it would cause the steering wheel to not center right but im just at a loss here.

I will be doing a once over this weekend to make sure nothing is bent... and as much as i would love to take it to toyota, the local dealership has looked up my truck and it doesnt show up in the database correctly. so thats another issue...

What does them looking it up ina database matter. Do alignment? But they are the last place to do an alignment on a lifted truck. Find a 4x4 shop.

I’m stumped on this one. Sounds like he’s not holding the steering wheel straight during the alignment.

With the seats it can be difficult to lock the steering wheel at zero. Sounds like it’s coming undone.

Take it to a better shop.

Tye database thing is mostly for dealing with Toyota... if I have to take it to the stealership, nothing comes up for the truck when they pull the vin. So if I it is something more than just a bad alignment that’s going to be a little more problematic.

Are they doing the vsc clear and recalibrate after alignment?

Doubt. I’m going to do it tonight though. Maybe that will do it?
