You have to admit though... The way he has built up his Tacoma, if he built a Super Duty expo rig, it would be really sweet!

@Bruce988jl have you considers Timbrens or Sumo Springs instead of air bags?

What happened to it? In stock form, they have like no flex. Even with my camper attached. It will lift one of the rear tires on the very slight off camber in my drive way. The front has only a couple inches of up travel also. I would think you'd need to completely rework the suspension in order to take a F250 off road on anything beyond a dirt road. The rest of the components are pretty stout!

I have considered the sumo springs however I have read very hit/miss reviews on them. Some say the suggested lower rated one for +1000lbs is too stiff unless you are towing or fully loaded. I run about +600lbs give or take in the rear without the fridge only taking into account the cap/racks/rtt/armor/bedslide/toolbox

$5300 to spray foam my 3rd floor/attic. Roof @5", and walls at 4 I think.

Need to dense pack my walls, and in the process of windows as I get time.

Last on my list is a new boiler. Maybe in the spring?

Has anyone dealt with MassSaves? SprayFoam is out of pocket. And boiler most likely as well.
But, the dense pack, they'll cover that right? Or at least a portion?

I'm typing this, as I'm getting frustrated listening to my boiler tossing money up the chimney......

People are given a fair warning that their cars will be destroyed and they will be left to the dragons to survive (Coyotes, mountain lion and lots of bear) if they wanna come hang out on Adams rd. With the amount of people I pull out/warn away I'll feel bad when we move. A delivery guy fucked up his jeep on it a few months ago and then got fired because he didn't have a car anymore. My road will literally ruin your life. :bananadead::rofl:

I'll just throw this out there again, I have a wedding venue with big parking lots. It is in the middle of nowhere really, but we could have a get together there almost anytime in the winter. Once I get a garage built by our new house I'd like to start hosting some mod-day type things there. Right now people would have to work outside, which is fine if the weather is okay. But we could do a like BYOB/BYOW night and pump out some music on the sonos speakers for now if anyone wanted to. Again we are not near a lot of you, but it's available!

I'm trying to figure out mass saves right now. There are a lot of potential savings I could hit by using it when getting our new heaters, insulation etc... I've spoken with them, I've even asked my builder a little bit about it. Everyone acknowledges it exists but I need to have some house inspectors and my builder would need to take classes and a test (he is the type of guy that would rather burn the test building down than take one) so we won't be able to get all of them. When we built our venue our individual contractors were able to figure it out for us and I am hoping they do so again. We ended up with free led bulbs in the whole building and some cheaper heating stuff. So it would be nice to grab the potential $700 savings on a water heater and a couple hundred in led bulbs. We are doing dense pack insulation I believe as well.

So, while I cannot help you, I do feel your pain and confusion. If I get any good info I'll post it up here.:fingerscrossed:

I'm not sure if the Sumo Springs for the Tacoma are the same as I had in my Ford, but they came with a spacer so you could decide how soon the spring would engage the bump stop. With the spacer, I had about an inch between the leaf and the Sumo Spring. My 'normal' load was the cap and tools, so probably 4-500 lbs in the bed at any given time. Loaded was towing the camper, bed full of bikes, generator and camping gear and my family in the cab. Unloaded, you'd never know the Sumo Springs were there unless you hit a big bump at speed, then you could feel the leafs hit the Sumo Spring. Loaded, with the trailer, it was an awesome ride, it really smoothed it out with the camper in tow, much less bouncy. Off road, I would imagine it could limit your up travel quite a bit but, you never have to worry about putting air in or tearing them. The F150 had 2 options, 1,500 lbs and 2,000 lbs. I was running the lighter, 1,500 lb version. I believe the rating is what they are rated to carry when 50% compressed if I'm remembering correctly. Just my $0.02 on them for what it's worth, my use for them on my pavement pounder was obviously very different than your needs but they do seem to overlap a bit.

Unfortunately both sumo springs called out for the tacoma's make constant contact with the frame without spacers. I have heard that it makes for an uncomfortable ride unloaded so that's kind of why I swayed towards the airbags... but some have said the airbags do the same so who knows....

My buddy has his own company, and can navigate through some of it.

It's funny, that while I carry the right licenses, and more, I cannot do the work myself to get the benefit of masssave. It would save everyone money. But, I cannot be my own contractor. Has to be one of THEIR contractors.
    No thanks.

    Either way.
I almost want to go back to renting.....

What did you install spike strips and hidden holes to keep people out? Also using a jeep for deliveries o_O is that because the shipping company would give a truck or something?

I'm considering them for my F150. The sagging isn't awful, but it's definitely there with any significant weight.

The company told me there is no downside to go to the 2000 lb option instead, because unloaded it's not riding on it. I think I'd go that route if/when I do it.

    I said almost...
Because, up here, I need a $500k mortgage to have a place I dont have to put a lot of work into, get land, and have space(3 daughters). I refuse to do that.

Work doesnt leave me much time to work on the house, so, renovating is a start stop process, constantly, h less I bring in a contractor, did that with cabinets and counters.
I have plenty of equity in the house now....
    Just venting....

I could be too, especially depending on how "family friendly" it is.... wife and 6 year old would enjoy the ride... otherwise, I'd rather take the bike, and it's too cold.

    Here's one site: http://www.energyfederation.org/masssave

Thermostats are cheap there--they just require that you ship them to the same address where you have electric service. Mine is National Grid and the login works fine.

Yeah, for me it isn't the way to go. For instance, I'll probably need to replace my boiler in the next few years. My boiler guy works for an oil company by day and does a lot of side work on evenings and weekends. Any time I've looked, It'd be significantly cheaper to order a boiler delivered freight and whatever else he gives me on a shopping list and pay him to do the work.

He'll pull permits and everything, which is more than I do for any work I do myself.

I think the key advantage to the MassSAVE way for that stuff is the 0% financing, but for something in that cost range I'd rather just pay for it all at once than have a loan for years anyway.
