What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Just did a Los Angeles to Las Vegas run and was very pleased with the huge difference the TSB 0062-18 made on the drive up and down the long and steep grades.

This was about a 550 mile round trip and the average MPG shown was the same both ways - strock set up with the air dam.

I kept the adaptive cruise on most of the trip. Very happy I got that option, only thing I hate it the viciousness of acceleration the truck makes when you have the cruise set at 80 and the person in front of you decides to slow down to 55-60 then they clear out from in front of you and BAM! the truck practically floors it to get back to the set cruise speed - I really wish it would be more gradual in getting back up to the set cruise speed but it really snaps your head back...

 

one of the best upgrades i've made. they look awesome and work like a charm.

 

this is going to be my next project. if you don't mind me asking, how much did everything cost out the door? how long did it take to install everything?

 

The wind was brutal driving to northern Utah. I drove through Wyoming and was driving directly against the wind.

 

Someone makes a rubber mat for the tailgate, I had one on my 2011. Sorry but I just can't remember who I bought it from. Might have been a Westin. I think I gave around $50 for it.

 

Lose any functionality between the gauge cluster and the radio?

I have the BedRug tailgate mat. It works fairly well. It could be thicker though. I can still slightly feel the ridges in the tailgate but it is much better than nothing.

Just installed my Fox 2.5" Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks, DSC - Thanks to AccuTune Off-Road, Inc

They both are placed towards the Rear of the truck but I’m not really liking the Driver Side mounting location. I went on the Fox thread to see other options, found a couple that I may try but maybe there is someone on this thread that would like to make a post and show how they mounted their Driver’s Side.

 

Had a couple buddies who work and own a motorsports wiring business help me make a plug and play harness adapter for my Pop & Lock tailgate actuator, also had them change out the crappy bullet style connectors that came with the kit with something much better too. Works perfectly.

 

Recently I added a rear high clearance bumper from CBI but I had to add some metal to it to make it fit my truck since my last rear bumper was a true high cut bumper!!!

 

Very impressed. Do you have a writeup for this. I am currently in the process of cleaning up all of my wiring and this was my second thing I did to my truck. Let’s just say I have learned a lot since then.

 

Any chance on posting the parts list and source for the connectors?

 

I got pretty good mileage driving to the coast about a month ago and I got 25.8mpg and I got this mileage driving last week on the freeway, it was pretty good, I have no lift my truck is all stock

 

Why?

 

I built a custom light rack for Prinsu rack. Light mount is made from 1” chromoly and the brackets are mild steel. Great for long range and dusty conditions. I’m a more round light kind of guy. But I’m selling the setup so I’m sure I’ll make something new for the new rack,lol

I also added total chaos spindles gussets to the front setup.

 

can you take a closer pic of your door handles? how hard was that?

 

Trip from Colorado Springs to Denver via the back roads. No pedal to the metal, and thinking I had a tailwind to help. (stock SR5 with a tank of 87)

 

I always fill up my truck with plus gasoline at shell gas stations and I use this reward card to save 5 cents on every galon

 

For those that own BlackVue Camera, what size memory is adequate (16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB)?

 

Can you save the same 5 cents/gallon on 87 octane? You do know that 93 octane does absolutely nothing for you, right?
