Hi All...I am a member of the Cajun Navy Relief organization. I received a couple of calls to help out in NC but the problem is my truck. My 17 foot mudboat is perfect for the job but they would rather see mudboats pulled with lifted full size trucks. I was needing the name of a company close to the New Orleans area that could lift mine without all of the 4WD equipment. This isn't going to be a show truck. It just has to get me through deep water. Thanks in advance!

You have quite a few choices to get the 2wd up about 2.75 inches.

One 881 OME coils in the front.
    Bilstien 5100 lift shocks.
    Spacers.
    Eibach springs
    etc.

In the rear you can use add a leads.
    Re arched springs.
    Complete heavy duty spring packs
like a full OME talk at pack with extra leaf.

I'm 2wd prerunner with a full time powertrax no slip locker.

8 pack OME Dakkars with the extra leaf.
    881 OME coils
    total chaos upper control arms.
And OME nitrocharger shocks on all 4.

Lift it yourself. It's a gravy job if you have any mechanical experience.
Get a couple friends, some pizza and beer and have at it.
There several threads on here to help you.

For his needs a spacer kit (like rough country) would be 100% ok.

    I wouldn't disagree with that.

A spindle lift is going to get you the most lift up front without messing with the geometry to much and keeping the front allignable.
The deavers in the rear is just a spring pack in the rear that will level you out in conjuction with the front.

If you really want height, I would go with this or just get a 6" fabtech kit.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
There's no spindle lift for a (6 lug) Prerunner.

    My lift is:
Front = ToyTec 620lb coils mounted on Bilstien 5100 shocks (at the lowest setting)

Rear = Stock leafs with a set of Wheelers 1.5 inch add a leafs and a set of middle leafs from a 5 lug Tacoma.

I am lifted 2.75 in front and 2.5 in back.

If you lift to 2.5+ in the front, it's advisable to replace your upper control arms, to avoid having problems getting good alignment numbers (I went with SPC upper control arms)

If you are going to do a lot of high water... you should do a relocate on your diff breather to avoid getting water in your diff.

It looks like I can get a kit to lift it about 6 inches without any radical fabrication. Does this sound right? I think it was from Fabtech

There really aren't any lifts for our trucks that do over 3 inches without pretty big fabrication.

The most lift you are really going to get with out major fab is a 2.5-3 inch suspension lift, and a 2 inch body lift, to get you to 5 inches.

Anything more than that will be major fabrication, major problems, or both.

Rough Country (and others) do a drop bracket lift, that may get your truck lifted where you want it to be. But you're cutting and drilling (and other light fab) and drop bracket lifts are really not the best way to go if you want any improvement in your suspension.

It looks like Trail Gear has a kit to convert the front to a straight axle. I think it is a 6in lift kit. I looked at so much stuff my head is spinning. I just remember a guy having a 4WD gen 1 lifted like a monster truck.
