Thanks for the support, almost always get some sort of hate from my pictures haha.

Probably shouldn’t post them but for some reason it’s difficult to not to.

GOD I envy you people that live out there.

I am so in need of some time in a place like this, just to decompress. Especially if there is a trout stream somewhere close, I can spend some time chasing fish.

Not going to pretend I don't feel sorry for anything that gets trapped and is likely in pain, but I let it go after my first comment because I know how necessary population control of certain animals in certain areas is, and just because it's not considered a normal thing to do where I live doesn't mean that's the case everywhere else.

You take great pics dude and you should be proud of them, not many people get to see what you see especially those of us that live in bigger cities. I think the photo of the bobcat in the trap just hit some of us in the feels given that we don't have the same context behind the photo or relate to it in the way that you have. But don't stop posting pics, I for one enjoy looking at 'em.

    This reminds me-

Can anyone tell me, with certainty, the proper filter number for a 1997 Toyota Tacome, 4X4, with 3.4? The parts houses are all over the place in physical size, part number, etc.

I need a known-good part number that I can cross reference to a Baldwin filter. I'm sure these are good filters, but I long ago went to Baldwin filters and won't change.

Will do, honestly when I was trying to get the misalignment spacers out...I cleaned the original bearings and moved them around a bit with my fingers - I couldn't feel any abnormal play or slop in them, I thought they'd be loose and sloppy as hell given how much clunking and squeaking they make. I guess it's a different story when the weight of the truck is on them versus just my hands. I'll hopefully get it taken apart again tonight or this weekend and have an update soon.

The D1 filter is the current filter that Toyota recommends. Replaced the G1 & B9 filters according to the parts catalog.

I swear, I have got to be more patient!!! This was the reply directly after the last I quoted.

As it happens, that crossreferences to the same filter (Baldwin BT223) I use on my wife's 94 ZJ and my son's 97 XJ. PERFECT!! I'll just order a dozen from the local Grainger and I'm good for a while.

Thank you sir. I spent a few hours perusing the parts computer at Oreilly and my phone trying to come up with an answer instead of bugging you guys.

The key part is you let it go, if people would just scroll past what they don’t like or understand most Facebook like arguments wouldn’t happen.

As for the pain part, Utah has laws that make trappers use jaws that can’t close completely, blood still gets circulated, and most people, including myself, use a ton of swivels so they can’t twist and tear and trappers have to check their traps often so the animals don’t sit in the elements for an extended about of time. Other than the initial pinch of being caught I don’t think they feel much pain. There’s tons of videos of people putting their hands in traps to prove that point.

I let a couple cats go last year and every one of them ran off just fine.

They just run away when you run into them, from my experiences.

I’m sure if they decided to snack on you and actually committed they wouldn’t though.
