I miss my softopper! Truckbeds makes an air mattress that is custom fit for the Tacoma bed and it worked perfect for me. Actually took my daughter camping the first time in the bed of the taco when she was about 18 months old lol

I have seen that before. My issue is I don't have a cab to store a whole lot while the mattress takes up all the bed space. So gear on one side, and sleep on the other for now. I'm super pumped, this is the type of thing I bought the top for!

Gulches had a good variety. From service roads to SOS buggy hill climbs. We stayed on the tamer side, it really was a good learning experience for me to transition from trails like Chestnut mt to some tougher obstacles.

Practice practice practice. It'd be a whole lot easier on my noob self if I didn't have to worry about operating a 5spd in there on the technical stuff.

Momentum is your friend. Even with an auto I try and keep my momentum up that is necessary for the trail.

Keep it moving. As slow as possible, as fast as necessary.

I might make it up late friday night and the outpost might be closed. Where else can I find a pass?

Depending on where you camp, u dont need a pass. Only need pass on ohv trails. Lots of spots to camp off of moccasin creek “trailer here” on the maps in first few pists

GPS takes me to OP at 7:30-8pm. If I can make it there before they close I will swing in and get one, but if I can't and I catch up with yall and wheel in the darkness I should be OK without a pass? I am not much of a rebel unless my odds are good.

As long as you tried to do your part, if there's a ranger out I'm sure they'll understand. Worst case you can ride passenger.

Cell signal is spotty. The outpost generally geys better signal and has wifi. Your GPS should easily get you from the outpost to the camp site.

Just a heads up for others who might like to enjoy a beer on the trails. Supposedly the rangers took delivery of a few side by sides and are riding the trails now and not just the fire roads. With that said I did not see them on the trails this past weekend but be cautious

I saw a couple on a trail cutting up a tree they had removed from trail blockage. I believe they were busy after the storm rolled through..

I've been seeing more and more out there. I overheard some guys talking and there has been quite a few incidents on the trail involving alcohol or drugs. It would be good to get that crap off the trails I am getting tired of coming home with an empty 6 pack or more of beer cans.

Yep, don't mind if you are drinking while at the camp site - just don't do it while driving on the trails.
