Unfortunately yes. We've done plugs, wires, and valve springs and have the crank position sensor as well but have already done a relearn to see if that solved the problem. It's gotten to be less frequent but still seems very random. Our current guess is the timing chain tensioner may be broken but that requires the entire front of the car to be pulled apart to fix basically so that's been put off due to just being a PITA. Still drives fine 90% of the time and when it does it still runs like a scalded ape but I want my other 10% back and I want to be able to feel confident that I can drive it to Austin(or anywhere else)with no problems.

Just saw that on the noon news. Deputy was responding to a report that a barricade had been removed, and whammo he's in the water. Apparently 1431 wasn't on the county's list of closures and he wasn't expecting to suddenly find water there.

    I bet he knows now.

I don't know, that's not what it sounded like on the news. The statement was that no one was expecting that to be a flooded crossing. He rounded the corner and bam was in the water. I think it's something like 25 feet from the turn, and it was dark.

I think that he managed to keep it on the road at all was skilled driving. The vehicle didn't get washed away, and he did all the right things to get rescued safely.

I think the real WTF of the situation was why wasn't that crossing on the county's list?

Still...I think he's going to be finding mysterious life jackets in his patrol vehicles from now until retirement.

Glad he or she is ok. Primary rule of EVOC, don’t over run the conditions. You can’t help someone if you never get there. (That one is on the test).
