I'm also an expert at bread. Please be careful with the peels. Us 3rd genners are known to slip on them which causes diff leaks.

I've been browsing the forms for a while now in preparation of buying my first Tacoma once the 2018s release. But I decided to sign up to add to the discussion of Ceramic Pro. :)

I too am OCD when it comes to keeping a car looking clean. I've done the whole 3 bucket method with grit guards and blow drying the car to keep the paint perfect. And then there's all the time it takes to wax the car. A good wax only lasts about a month in the summer. The weekly upkeep got old.

I decided to give Ceramic Pro a try on my 2011 Audi S5. It's been over 2 years now and I still swear by it! I now use a foam cannon on my power washer to coat the paint in soap foam, lightly wash it with a clean wash mitt, and then power wash it with clean water for the rinse. Sometimes I'll blow dry it but most of the time I gently wipe a clean microfiber cloth over the spots where water beads build up. Most of the water beads up and rolls right off though.

The time that it has saved me and the fact that the car glows like it's been waxed after just a wash has been well worth the money for me! As soon as I have my TRD Pro it's going straight to my detailer for Ceramic Pro!

There will always be those who say it's snake oil but I have over 2 years of being extremely satisfied with Ceramic Pro.

Here's a picture of my S5 with just a basic wash:

I've never heard of this particular brand, but if it's anything like permaplate, Ibex or any of the other bull shit paint protecting sealants, y'all are suckers. They are little more than a fancy wax.

Worked out well for me. Has made washing a breeze and bird poop and other things like that wash off with very little effort.

Old thread but I am going to get mine done in December after getting my paint completely fixed and all little dents taken out. This will include calipers brakes, wheels, glass, and multiply coats on body and paint mached tonneau cover! Looking forward big time!

I applied CarPro UK 3.0 myself at the beginning of summer on my 2016 Tacoma. After having experienced it I would highly recommend it to those that enjoy detailing your cars, like washing it on a regular basis and putting tire dressing on to make your truck look all shiny. I really enjoy washing and detailing my truck because it is my only form of exercise and healthy activity currently. Having the ceramic coating makes washing and cleaning super easy as anything that accumulates slides right off. The added hydrophobic qualities are a nice bonus particularly during when it's raining. I'm noticing I rarely need to set my wipers on a high setting. For myself, it was never worth it to pay someone $1500+ to do it as you are paying for pure labour. I can understand that for many of these businesses the price they charge for this service is fair knowing exactly how much time goes into actually prepping the surfaces for ceramic coating. The coating that I purchased is inexpensive and I got to learn a new skill with a Rupees orbital polisher. I spent about $500 CDN for the detailing products in order to do it myself. Would I do this again? Yes I would but I would have liked to put a clear bra on the front to prevent the massive amount of rock chips I have due to driving her in the Yukon.

So asking the question of whether or not it's worth it? That's impossible for any of us to answer for you as it will depend on how you want your truck to look and how you want to maintain it. For me, I loved it and would do again. Best advice I can give you is that you do not apply this stuff at night where it is hard to see the coating flash. And a little bit of this stuff goes a long way. If you are paying someone else to apply it for you go with Ceramic Pro as they do last longer and at $1500 price point they should be doing at least 2 coats or more which will increase the longevity of the coat.

I've ceramic coated my 2014 and 2003 Tacoma and maintaining it has been much easier now. I'm no longer having to polish like I did with all of my other vehicles. I just ceramic coated my father's 2018 Tundra on Monday. Applying the Hydro2 today. I placed two coats on all of the vehicles. I've never seen water bead on a vehicle like this. I agree with @Bipper2504 that you do not want to apply at night, especially on a dark vehicle like my 2014. Mistakes we made, but corrected. Applying the coating is easy enough. The prep is really what matters and, to me, what you're paying for.

How can you find this type of ceramic services around your area? I called several detailing places and they don’t do them. I reside in Raleigh NC.
