Those magic clean erasers work too to take off the oxidation. I painted my lower valance with SEM trim black but I used the magic erasers on my side view mirrors, they look brand new now.

 

Yeah if you don’t have a heat gun a propane torch will work if you’re careful, also like the guy above mentioned you can use magic erasers as well.

 

Got my supercharger ported today, excited to see the results in a week or two

Pretty sure you're at the peak point of getting all you can out of the TRD blower on these motors. Not sure you're gonna see a big change.


AKA...time to turbo

 

We will see, if I get another pound or two that will work.
Essentially it will make the supercharger less restrictive at the input and exit port as both sides get ported and that means less heat more air flow.
I’m hoping for two more pounds of boost (12 pounds total) which means 25-30 more horses, we will see

FYI I've seen a lot of questions about "how much does it take". One quart got me 90% of my very rusty frame, slopping it on with a 2 inch brush. I tried a hand spray bottle, too thick. I tried my HVLP spray gun, too thick. Both just came out in a stream.

I've also seen discussion about viscosity in orders from Amazon. Here is the one I ordered, and it was not overly thin, as some others have indicated on their orders.

Got my Morimoto ds2 4.0 retro finished tonight. 35w morimoto bulbs and xb ballasts. With color changing demon eyes. The cutoff is amazing! So much better than running led bulbs in oem housings. I’m sure my fellow motorists will appreciate it too

Fun fact-

Those are actually an ancillary use of that material. Apparently it was invented to be a lighter seatfoam material for aviation.

 

Do yourself a favor and get EVERYTHING you plan on POR15-ing together, and ready.

Once you crack the lid on this stuff, the clock is ticking. You can try to reseal it with plastic film, but once it sees atmo, it's tick-tick-tick, time to go!

 

Should just paint it as it will fade again plus it'll look better black and not gray

175* is about the “ideal” temperature for transmission operation. On a flat highway, I run around 140, going up the pass it may climb up to 210 or so. That’s also SC’d on 35s.

The trick to longevity, as with everything else on these trucks, is proper maintenance intervals for your type of use. I drain and fill my transmission at least once a year, which means the fluid is basically completely replaced every 30-40k miles.

 

Not sure how familiar you are with the operation of the A340F, I think your truck is a manual right?
Torque converter lock-up is your friend. It will only lock up in 3rd if you have OD turned off. Otherwise it will stay unlocked and build a lot more heat until it can lock up in OD, about 55 mph or so. I pretty much keep OD off at all times until I’m at cruising speed on the highway.
Likewise, dropping it into 3rd and smashing up the pass at 75 keeps the temps down to a reasonable level, even at 3500 rpm.
