Also considering that some will throw away $$$ on things like TRD exhausts + CAIs and not come close to the difference the tune makes...

some morons like me throw money at all those things too and i have an empty wallet to show for it. :p

but a good flowing exhaust does definitely change things. and the TRD exhaust is not one of those.

Now, OVT + free flowing exhaust made for this application + custom tuning session... that's where it's at short or TURBOS.

I plan to look at Dirty Deeds' Y-pipe and resonator setup once he gets it sorted..

i'm interested in the new exhaust too. my current is nuts for flow, and the sound is pretty good and aggressive up to about 2.2k or so where the V6 sounds like a typical horrible V6.

i have a Y pipe and a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator on already and it still does this. i went to the exhaust shop yesterday with two more inline bottle style Vibrant resonators to put on the Y pipe where the rear cats used to be, and i was sure this was gonna be good. 5 minutes later the man comes out of the back and says they won't fit, not enough room to weld. now i'm returning them and looking for some kind of solution. my exhaust guy is recommending a custom J pipe to eat the remaining resonance. he says it's about 50% chance of working, 50% chance of doing nothing. $100. gonna try it i guess.

For anyone that has been running OVT long enough that their truck begins to feel tame and normal, perhaps you're telling people that it's just nice to have but not worth the money and that a Sprint Booster is just as good, but you've forgotten just how bad the stock tune was, well I suggest you go driving with a buddy who also has a Tacoma and follow a road or highway that takes you up a hill or pretty steep grade and watch them struggle behind you lol was going out into the desert to go shooting with a friend and he's got an AT with a Pedal Commander and was struggling behind me, while I was leaving him behind with my 6MT w/ OVT. Lol

That's one of the main things Dirty Deeds has left to sort out, according to his posts. We shall see!

That would definitely do the trick, but I would also be dead from the sudden stop at the end of a trip over a cliff.
"Stock" tune in my case would be 04B10 lol. I noticed the other day that I still had a copy of my first ever PCMFlash ECU read. Right click - delete; Empty recycle bin; feel better!

Nice to know that the vibrant didn't do much. I have the URD cat delete, same as you and was considering the vibrant. I guess I will just live with the drone...

You're not wrong, but stock tune for me is now 04B13 because I updated, and that's not a bad stock tune lol

I talked to Keith at Dirty Deeds 2 days ago. He and Mat know each other. I have one of his mufflers on my truck now. He told me that he is very close to having a really nice free flowing exhaust designed for our trucks. He is finishing testing and working on getting the drone out of the system. He doesn’t want to say anything about it until he is ready to market it.Told me there would be improvement in hp and torque too. Also said he was pretty sure no one else would have anything like it.It’s a bolt-on system..There will be different options as to cats, mid pipes etc..depending on state emission laws and personal wants. I know he’s hoping to release with a Black Friday sale at the end of Nov..I’ll try to keep you guys updated as to progress.

it does help, definitely, a lot. and it brings the bass especially down low. but it does not fix all the rasp. i'm referring to the rasp not the drone.

I’d be curious to compare my $100 Flowmaster to these expensive exhausts you guys are putting on. Flow and sound is great with the tune without much droning at all. Running super 44

OVT is 100% worth it. Unless your truck is a garage princess and you don’t drive it. Then you probably don’t care about anything cuz it just sits around gathering dust and being sad.

i'm trying cheaper things now, and the flow from the Spintech muffler is great. but i'll keep that in mind. for now i'm literally staying out of the gas cus the sound is too harsh for me above 2.5k or so.
