    A few minor things...
    No problem.

If you want to get your hands dirty and learn how stuff works suspension is a good thing to learn on. You can save a bunch of money if you want to learn and have the tools. If not, ignore everything below.

Putting rear shocks on is super simple. 3/10 difficulty. literally jack the rear end up, remove one of the rear tires, remove the top nut and bottom bolt on the stock shock. Remove shock, install new shock the same way the old one came out. Install brake line spacers and you're done in under an hour.

Rear AAL isn't too hard 4/10. This takes a bit more time and a few more bolts but isn't rocket surgery. Jack up rear of truck, jack stand the frame on both sides, remove tires, put jack under rear axle and remove one side of U bolts. loosen the other side a bit. Drop the axle down so you can get the center pin out. Add the AAL as per the instructions, reassemble and repeat on the other side.

Front coilovers aren't hard 4/10. There are plenty of videos on youtube on this. A lot of them are step-by-step so you can do that if you so choose.

ECGS bushing isn't hard, you just have to be very careful during removal and installation. 5/10

1 being changing windshield wipers, 10 being replacing the engine. (my opinion on difficulty...)

Haha. Honestly, its more a time thing. I'm a single dad with a 2 year old with almost full custody. But I'd love to if I could. Worked a bit on my old GTI installing intakes, downpipes and tuning modules with wiring all over the engine.... oil changes and all that crap. But never suspension. I'm thinking of taking it to a guy locally that hit me up here on TW. Said he has done 5-6 lifts and the bushing... maybe I give him a shot to save some money and learn!

If he will work with you for a few $$$ and a case of beer that would help you a bunch! I'm in NE MA and I have all the tools to do exactly what you're doing. If you're ever up here I can help you out but that's a long drive!

I have the ECGS tool, install presses, sockets, impacts etc.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the offer. I'd definitely pay members here that know what they are doing. It saves me money and from what I've heard its pretty hard to F up suspension installs (meaning is it really necessary to install at a shop?) Plus the bond and learning thing ... can't put a price on that.

At the end of the day, if something F's up I'm still screwed as Toyota won't warranty anything suspension related with a lift anyways. Whether a shop or buddy does it.

random thought. Doesn't the TRD Pro come with a 1-2" lift and similar suspension to the 6112s? I'm assuming they use the same bushing as my Offroad? Therefore, by TW logic shouldn't the bushing be switched to the ECGS bushing on a TRD PRO?

No, it’s about .75-1” taller than the TRD OR. Confirmed. The front fender of the PRO sits at 35.25” from ground (center down center of wheel to ground)

That being said, with a 1.5” lift my front fender sits at 37”

Guys- one last question. After thinking about things one poster got me thinking. Seems setting both 6112s at the same notch is better and adding a 1.4" lean spacer. Now I just need to make the decision as to what notch to set them as. 5th or 6th? Looking for a 2" lift.

You mean .25” lean spacer? This can be done with poly spacers in the coil like OME does

I meant the "taco lean" spacer that is I think 1/4" that places usually sell. Is that not what I'd use? Also... been thinking. A lot of suggestions for the 6112s and using the 5 or 6th notches. Why do people suggest doing that (preloading) but with 5100s its a no-no unless you want a harsh ride? Seems people recommend the 5100s set at 0, with OME coils. But with the 6112s... no one has an issue going to the highest notches. Is there a difference?

Valving also helps dictate harshness. Not sure if there is different valving between the 2

You're really overthinking this and now repeating yourself on the same questions.

You will NOT feel a difference no matter which way you go regarding compensating the lean.

    Pull trigger....

Honestly, this thread should have only lasted 3 pages at most.

    :annoyed:

Instead of asking the same thing again go back and reread this thread, everything has been answered again and again....

If it seems I'm repeating myself, its mostly because I wasn't answered fully. If you really look at my questions, they were not all fully answered. Not like I'm just trying to be annoying.

This last one was... bilstein even recommended you offset clips based on the chart I supplied in post #69 and you acknowledged it later. I even said before you wouldnt notice a performance difference.

The chart gives you the amount of lift for 2 inches and where to set the clips.

What more do you need to know?

What I was asking is why is it OK to set the notches and preload on the 6112s, but doing that on 5100s is frowned upon

Why are you asking about 5100s when you said you settled on 6112?
