Thanks dude. Redline transmission gear oil is GL-4 so I think you are correct.

yeah that sounds right, the Redline MT90 is good stuff if you can swing the extra few bucks for it. I didn't notice any mind blowing changes when I switched to it like some people report, but it does make for some smooth shifting.

I’d be happy if it quieted the transmission down a little bit but everything I’ve read says they’re just loud. I was gonna go Redline for the trans, Mobil 1 for the diffs and tcase.

I ordered some for the Z, it's been in the Taco for almost 3 years. I dunno if it makes any difference, things has always shifted the same and it's always been noisey. That's just kinda it's thing. But for how little it takes to fill it, there's no big deal buying it

yeah people on here sometimes talk about MT90 like it was something holy turned into gear oil from water by jesus himself...I like it and I'll continue to use it if only because I know the quality is good, but I didn't really notice a difference between it and the normal Valvoline stuff I was using before.

true, at least we aren't using gallons of ATF fluid like those silly auto trans guys *ahem @BartMaster1234 * Just a few quarts of the good stuff

I don't remember having that on my truck. I pulled the carpet back too on the driver side as that's where I have my excess for wire for the CB. The only plug I have dangling under there is for the seat belt light cause I unpluged mine.

I used to always think that the power seats only came on Limiteds for 03-04. I've never seen an 01-02 with power seats personally. But that's just my speculation.

I just bought some the other day from Pep Boys, think it was Valvoline brand. I use the black moly grease (NLGI?), I don't know if brand matters. Some people swear by Lucas grease but it's pricey.

I use the Valvoline mentioned for the slip yoke as it has the moly additive. The rest I use Mobil1 synthetic cause I haven't ran out yet. I don't recommend it though unless you don't mine leaking from your grease gun. The formula they have now seperates when it sits for a while.

Thankfully they aren't like Mitsubishi and only recommend their own OEM grease, even Toyota dealerships just get whatever is cheap

Only Limited 2001-2004 double cabs came with power seats. Some trucks reused harnesses, thus the seat connector under your seat.
