How much did the rears run?

 

I bought the ADS level 3 kit from head strong in total it was a little over 4K

 

Baller. Yah my fronts were $1950.

I’m having guilt even though i could afford them. My 14 month old son has changed me.

 

Yeah that price was a kick in the pants it hurt seeing it go from my bank account haha but my bilsteins started leaking after not even a year of soft off-road use and they were extremely harsh on and off road. It seems like these are way better investment than they were.

 

I got the same kit, same price. Buy once, cry once.

 

Good because I definitely had thoughts about doing the 8112’s or 6200/5160s. I liked the 8112’s and was seriously almost the one I chose. OME somewhat pisses me off because they preload the shit out of their strut setups. I had the medium kit fronts and my spc ball joints are already need replacing. Any pothole was tooth shattering. They are made for heavy Overland trucks in my opinion.

Today I accidentally hopped a cement divider that split a parking lot entrance of a busy street today...I literally smiled when it felt like nothing with these extended travel shocks.

 

I certainly shed a few tears but i agree with the buy once cry once!

 

How much preload do you have on your fronts? Any weight/armor?

 

If I could’ve found an 8112 kit that included everything that came with this kit from extended brake lines to upper control arms and all the other goodies I may have bought them but it would’ve been like an extra $1000. They do look sweet though.

 

I could have gotten the 8112’s fronts for $1600. My neighbor has a brand new BP-51 kit for %20 off.

I’m happy with the ADS. The more I use them the more I like em for my situations

 

Anyone with a 2nd Gen have theirs set to 2.5" of lift? I lost my stock hub to fender measurements somewhere between the 3 different lifts I've had and dont really know where to adjust my preload to anymore.

 

With the wheels off the ground, measure the coil spring. The spring is a 14” spring so subtract the measured amount from 14 and that’s how much preload you have.

 

Oh...I thought you just measured how much threads were showing

 

I have ~1" driver side and 7/8" passenger side. That has me at ~2" lift. No armor yet and I have 700# springs. I will eventually add an AGM battery and possibly a hidden winch. Rock sliders and aluminum skids are coming next year, hopefully.

This info was straight from Brian from ADS. He mentioned that 3” is about the max you’d want to go.

 

I was looking for lift height measurement, but this is great info to know.

 

I was under the impression you wouldnt want to compress the spring past 12"

 

He told us 3” is the max to preload the spring. Give them a call in the morning, they are cool folks (ask for Brian)

I’ve got a 3rd gen so could be different.

 

Dang. I’m 1” 1/8” , which puts me at 1.7” lift but with this lo-pro bumper and 9200 winch. Also 700#s
