Just got back from O'Reilly Auto Parts for replacement hoses for my 09 along with new thermostat Total $216.93.
    Rock Island $110.
Take a look at them for parts if you don't already. I was surprised at the difference. All we're the exact same part numbers and Gates Hoses and Motorad thermostat.

Definatly thumbs up for Rock auto. Lots of hard to find parts for older cars, easy to use website, and great prices. Had many good experiences with them.

You don't specify which hoses. I assumed just upper and lower radiator hose and tstat. Maybe you bought A LOT more than this.

I went to the O'Reilley web site and the grand total for an upper/lower hose and the priciest tstat housing unit totals up to $80.97

I just bought a new factory Toyota t-stat and Gates upper/lower hoses from Amazon. Was under $65 for everything. Install was easy but I did use a screw type band clamp for the lower hose going into the radiator. I couldn't easily manipulate the factory style hose clamp with my pliers. I have 130K on my truck and the old hoses and t-stat were still in pretty good condition, prolly didn't need to be replaced.

I can recommend Rock Island for the 1911 style hoses.

Yes, mine also at about 130k. Just don't want issues. Want to see how many miles I can get out of it. Love this truck

the only benefit to going to oreilly/advanced is when they have a part stocked. which in my experience is never for what i need. rock auto is my go-to or sometimes looking at Amazon.

Rock Auto is pretty good. I bought a bunch of stuff from them over the years. Not as much anymore as their shipping charges seem to have risen a bit and when they ship from multiple warehouses, they charge shipping from each.

That's happened to me. If I buy from them now, it's only when the ship cost is within reason. I found that large orders(numerous parts) were the ones that drove shipment from multiple whses. They get a kick back from the shipper. Covers what they may have lost on the price of the part(s).

Agreed...have had very good luck with Rock Auto. Prices, brands, etc are all good. If not in an immediate need for the parts, can be a pretty large savings. Do have to watch the shipping, though. Watch it even closer on heavy stuff (brake rotors, drums and the like.) Can easily offset the price difference versus local parts houses. Also an advantage with O'Reilly's or other locals is with returns or cores and no shipping where with Rock Auto you pay those charges as well.

If I can plan my repairs, I use Rockauto a lot. I've always had good luck and fast delivery from them.

I love Rock Auto, you'll always get what you ordered rather than other vendors who will sub manufacturers. Sometimes prices are cheaper than Amazon too. They even have a 5% discount code here, not much but better than nothing.

As mentioned about multiple warehouse shipping, I won't order from Rock Auto if the parts i want are shipped from different warehouses unless it still ends of being cheaperbthan elsewhere.

This summer I had a ABS sensor go bad in the wife's SX4, ordered a MOOG replacement wheel hub from them, $100. Had it installed, I don't remember how much, say $175 or so. Threw the box away. A week later the sensor quit. Guess what, need the box for a return. So, ordered another MOOG hub, used that box box for the return, paid again for the install. A week later it quit. So, no point in getting another MOOG hub; bough a $40 hub from Amazon which was fine (my mechanic gave me a reduced price on the install). As I did not have the original package for the MOOG I could not return it...Rock auto does not even have a phone number or email to contact. $100 went in the garbage. We figure it was frequency issue with MOOG parts.

Three installs, three wheel hubs, no way to deal with Rock auto regarding extenuating circumstances, FU Rockauto.

Good luck with that. As costs go up so does the risk with them.

I have deleted my prior glowing review of RA.

I am retracting my endorsement of RockAuto following a number of negative experiences this year. I don't know if they've stopped believing in customer service, or if I've just had bad luck, but I'm out nearly $300 on shipping for incorrectly listed parts, and denied core returns.

I hope they someday decide to value their customers on par with other online retailers, but as of this writing, they absolutely do not.

There is no human in the loop, there's no 800 number to call, and when something eventually goes wrong, you will be completely screwed. Your only recourse will be complaining about it on the internet.
