OK first and foremost I know "Don't mess with a PRO's suspension", "You shoulda bought an Offroad!" Etc... Etc... I don't care about your opinions on THAT.. what I want is good practical USEFUL help on how to keep a PRO from squatting while towing or when loaded down with camping gear etc. Again, I know "you don't want to mess with a PRO suspension" got it thanks!

So with all that said can anyone give me a good, practical answer? Leave your hate for the PRO or your hate for those of us who buy them at the door. Lets try and keep any idiotic, crispy "your truck sucks cause it is a 3rd Gen" comments out of this thread.

Airbags? AALs? what are good options for us PRO guys?

I want to avoid the rear squat... (not my truck just using this pic as an example of what I am trying to avoid)

Sumo springs. They tow fantastic. Had em on my 2nd gen and will be adding a set to my 3rd gen.

How is the ride unloaded? How do they effect offroad ability? I want to do mild to moderate trail driving (NOT going to go rock crawling or anything but just fun non destructive stuff )

I would say Firestone Ride Rite Air Bags or Resi Adjusters in the Rear

Not sure how adjusters on shocks would help the inadequacy of his leaf springs.

None at all, I'm running the daystar cradles so when you are offroad the bag lifts up and you don't rip it when you flex the rear end!

Fox DSC Adjusters really work and are an excellent choice if you’re changing weight, changing terrain, or want the best possible ride. Because of how compression adjusters work and the limited high speed adjustment range they require special valving which is best done with AccuTune equations. Dial in the perfect ride with AccuTune Valving and DSC equipped Fox shocks.

    Read more here http://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/how-fox-dsc-dual-speed-compression-adjusters-work/

This is exactly why I went with DSC in the Rear of my Truck

That still doesn’t do anything for his leaf springs not supporting loads.

It isn’t a thread about “ride.”

Have you read that link you provided? It says nothing about load handling, not even in mention. Unsurprisingly, it talks about shock compression and rebound, which again, have nothing to do with load handling or payload.

You seem confused on how suspension works.

Air bags are the way to go if you want no squat while towing. There is a reason every modern prime mover in existence has air bags.

Why would you not want to mess with a Pro’s suspension?
That makes no logical sense. Stock Toyota suspensions ALWAYS need improvement.

#1 you need to make sure you are loading your trailer properly and you are not exceeding your payload and tongue weight.
#2 weight distribution hitch that sits the proper height off the ground
#3 stock leaf springs SUCK. Pros included. You more than likely need to plan on getting new leaf springs or air bags if you plan on towing often.

I saw almost zero squat with my SR5 with stock springs.

    :notsure:

I’m relaxed, I’m brushing my teeth right now if it gives insight into my level of care or involvement.

But.. your options don’t do anything in his situation, whether you made 2 or 20. Your understanding of functions aren’t correct.

I guess you’d rather tell me to relax than to understand things better. Cool.

Air bags yes. Shocks.. not even remotely close.

This was my concern. It seems like Tacoma springs are just not great even on the "TRD Tuned" PRO suspension.

They’re the same leaf springs on all Tacoma’s.

The Pro is a trim level, not a build. Special badges, special shocks.. the nuts and bolts are identical to the next SR.
