Whatever helps you sleep at night. If he did it would be a manual for testing the tune for manual guys which wouldn’t work out for auto guys but then he’s need another auto for testing auto tunes. So he would need 2 other test trucks. I don’t think he has that

Yes.....I played around with all sorts of combinations.

In the mountains and on state highways doing 45-55, I just bumped it over to s4 and was pleased with how it ran mostly....occasionally would bump it down to s3 and leave it there (like on US129).

ECT did help on the interstate just marginally. The issue there is that 6th gear won’t engage on ECT until aroun 75mph.....so that’s another annoyance to add to the mix. Press a button for this....press again for that.....bump over to s-mode in this situation.....omg I just want to drop it in D and drive on the interstate and not be annoyed at how the truck is driving!

I understand that the gearing of the truck is much of the issue.....but not all of it. I think that if the throttle limiters on the top two gears are eased up a bit like OVtune has suggested will happen in 1.05, it’s going to make an incredible difference. Perfect?.....not likely.

Sorry.....Just blowing off steam here. 8 hours on the interstate yesterday just brought back all the “why the hell didnt I just get a manual” feelings.

Just thought about something with the handhelds. I have the dongle now and use my surface for tuning.

Will it need to be flashed back to stock with that and then tuned with the handheld? I’m guessing no one really knows besides mat right now. Just wondering if I should bother with flashing until I get the handheld.
