Am I the only one that thinks PRO grill is totally cheap/fugly?

Nope... I bought a 2018 Tacoma Sport recently :broccoli:... While waiting for the truck to be shipped, I decided to buy the Pro-grille with the intention of installing it when the truck arrived... Now that I have the truck, I'm having second thoughts  about installing the Pro grille. The factory grille style changed in 2018 (pic below) from the 2016/2017 model years. If it were still chrome, I'd change it in a heartbeat. Though I've decided to leave it as is for the time being. Meanwhile, the Pro grille is still in the package should I change my mind --- though I don't think I will.

For the record... I don't think the Pro grille is ugly, I just think the factory grill looks good as well.

I dislike chrome too, seems like the plastidip option should work fine. I don't mind the chromey fuchs in your profile pic though... ;)

The Pro grill was the first mod I did.

We used the original grill and made a cheese grater

    Still stock completely capable!
Lol I honestly thought I was super original when I bought my Taco and thought I would TRD PRO swap the Grill.. Now that EVERY SINGLE SR5, OR, Sport, Limited, and PRO all have this same grill I have decided I’m going to pray that EAG comes out with a TSS capable Grill and strap an autobot emblem to it lol!!! I honestly LOVE the look of the PRO grills I truly think it completes these trucks as I hate chrome, but just wanna go a slightly different direction now! Don’t think they look cheap think they look great !

So what, SoCal is not the center of the TW universe....:D

1 in 10 where I live, probably much less than that as the Taco population has exploded here in the last year or so and of those, most are completely stock.

Two years ago I was the only 3rd gen Taco I'd see on my commute.

Because TW is not the center of the Toyota Tacoma universe....

I have yet to meet another Tacoma owner who admits knowing what "Tacomaworld' is.....

Probably just need to talk to anyone with an aftemarket PRO grill installed....sure to be a TW'er.

Its nostalgic. That is why Toyota made the FJ Cruiser grill a throwback to the FJ 40. Why they reserved it for a certain trim is a mystery to me. As far as being $400, that is the same price as your grill if you ever damage it an need it replaced. Nothing is cheap at the dealer parts counter.

I think as an add on piece to a non-PRO its designated as a "heritage grill" on the window sticker of options for some dealer built frankensteins.

Personally I hate anything chrome on my vehicle. If it’s not blacked out it’s either getting replaced or just removed completely.

Does anyone have a Sky Silver TRD Sport with a Pro-Grille with a pic to post? I'm trying to get a sense of what it would look like on mine. Though I have to admit, I'm beginning to warm-up to the pro grille.

Probably completely anecdotal but I feel the same way. I saw 1-2 3rd gens a month for years now I see more than one everyday. One had a slimline bumper and winch, the rest were completely stock except one OR with a pro grille.

    Exactly.

There are a shit ton of them on HERE.

I never see anyone else with one driving around local, and I've been four deep in a Tacoma line at a redlight this week.

I wish I had the patent and mfg. rights of the pro grill. I would be super rich on snob hill! All too common, not ugly, just a me too, join the groupie item. I am too independent for the PG.

Fun to be independent but the other options are stupid heavy and stupid expensive.

I don't like either, none of the 3, but I have to admit that the TRD OR/Sport is the better looking.
Toyota was on the right track for the 18 TRD OR/Sport, but something about the finish that I don't like.
Wonder why not a simple honeycomb pattern with the emblem in the center. or toyota wording on the side IDK.
