Bungie's Destiny

Seems like some of you guys are deeper in the game than I am but figured I'd join the party anyway.

PSN had the game for free last month and I decided to get the Forsaken expansion this week as well. Fun getting back into the game. Really enjoyed the first one but kind of fell off the bandwagon right about the time house of wolves came out. Seemed to have gone downhill after that anyway. So far D2 seems to have way more to do, especially with the expansions. Any of you guys on PS4?

 

After HoW's in D1 is when the game really pick up it's stride with TTK. You missed the best years of the game since you left too early

Wasn't TTK before HoW? Think I played TTK for a while. I had invested a ton of time into the game and just got burnt out I think. Most of the guys I played with had moved on to other things as well. Took me a while to catch up with this one but I think I'm getting there. Having fun either way.

 

House of Wolves came out before TTK and then Rise of Iron after that. I damn near quit Destiny after House of Wolves because it sucked so bad. TTK is where the game really took off.

Destiny 2 year one was the same way. Had it not been for the people that I play with in my clan I'd of left a long time ago. But now... man... is the game ever good.

 

For someone that has never even played rumble outside of private matches I've done pretty well going up against 5 other people. Just goes to show you what a little practice and watching what others do in the game will do for you.

But I'd love to 1v1 you bro

 

Dude... I played some IB with a pick up group on the100 because I need to get a few more quickplay matches done for the broadsword. I died quite a bit in those few matches lol.

 

Well at the very least the callouts will be there.

 

It also helps when the callouts are in english and not broken German like today lol

Finally got around to finishing the raid tonight. Wasn’t too hard but a lot of fun. Made it to Riven a few times but finally decided to finish her off. Got the curated Chattering Bone out of the chest so I have every weapon from the raid other than the wave splitter.

I’ve been concentrating on the broadsword and I should have it tomorrow. Completed everything but the competitive game modes so I’ve got 25 more games and I’m done. It’s a hell of a quest line and a grind but I’m glad I did it.

I haven’t done one world bounty since everything drops at 600 and I don’t need anymore 600 shit. After I get the broadsword I’ll finish up my WL.

Kalli isn't bad at all. I like the mechanics and the fight (hell... I like all the mechanics). Not sure how your team did it since each team has a preference on how they like to do certain encounters.

The way we split up Kalli is assign 2 partners on all 3 sides of the circle she appears in. Directly across the stairs as you walk in there will be 2 sets of symbols. To the left of the stairs another set of symbols and the right another set of symbols. Those symbols change if you don't one phase her so you and your partner look at the symbol and go to the corresponding plates. Avoid the bombs that spawn on the plate and kill adds until the knight comes out. Take the knight down with the Ikelos shotgun (it's amazing with all the new weapons, that's still one of the best shotguns in the game) then run to the middle to do damage to Kalli.

You have about 15 secs. to do damage to her then the doors open directly in front of her. We assign doors from left to right no matter if they are top to bottom. 1-6 so there is no confusion. Run in to avoid being killed and when the doors open back up have a hunter with tether shoot the adds in the middle. Have a Titan put melting point on her and burn her down. I don't think we've ever had to two phase her. She goes down fast.

The second encounter (to me) is one of the funnest because it's so hectic. There is no time to stop or breath. It's constant adds, damage, jumping puzzles, and a timer. I love that encounter.

I will say throughout the entire raid I never take off the Ikelos shotgun and the sleeper (Whisper is a good option also on Riven). The only weapon I change is for Kalli. While standing on the plates you damn near need a hand cannon to deal with the taken since they teleport fast and a pulse rifle or any other rifle has a hard time with the teleports. Hand cannons are a one shot with the taken.

 

Morgeth is the easiest fight in the raid even though it doesn't look like it the first time you do it. But it's really not hard at all and can be completed in about 5 mins. The Vault is the most brain twisting of all the fights as you really have to be paying attention to the symbols and you must know Penumbra for left and Antumbra for right. It will make more sense once you get there. But it can be confusing as fuck the first time you step in there lol.

At the vault now. Got the hand cannon.

 

Well we got to the vault and people had to go. Not bad for a first start. I dont have ikelos shotty so going with badlander.we are going g to try again tomorrow or Monday morning. Lots of fun for sure.

 

The vault can be confusing at first. You need three dedicated symbol callers and 3 to protect those symbol callers. Once an area opens up the ones that aren't symbol callers need to kill the Knights that run to the plates as fast as possible and they are healthy and make a Beeline to the plate. So they have to be taken out fast. I would suggest those familiar with the fight be the symbol callers as it can get really confusing fast if you don't know what you're doing.

 

This guy slowed us down quit a bit. Some of our guys are just 570 so we had a hard time getting the dps. Ended up using wizard well, tether and my titan shield and just bairly got him. Next time all of our lives will be higher so should be quicker.

The mechanics in the vault will take some time for sure.
