Full rear shaft, includes a new carrier bearing. Guys super French and Karoline can’t translate “is it from a double cab long bed truck”.
    Yupoers.

^There's a duty and tax estimator here: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/dte-acl/est-cal-eng.html

On a set of $1300 CAD wheels made in China, duties and HST add up to $257. Same wheels made in US or Mexico would incur no duties, just $169 HST. Most parcel companies also tack on a brokerage fee ($50-60).

To avoid HST, you'd have to stay in the US for more than 48 hours and fabricate a false invoice showing $800 CAD total, or smuggle the wheels across undeclared :anonymous:

^Yep, but you'll have to make sure the shop that does your tire swap is Canadian-friendly. Some shops near the border, upon seeing your Ontario plate, will snitch on you to the CBSA.

All this hassle to just avoid paying the tax lol

Is it really worth that much risk over $165 worth of tax?

^Depends on how much you value your own time lol. Whole thing takes a day. I got my FN Konig wheels shipped to my door in 2012. When I got a 5th one for the spare last year, I discovered Cochrane Toyota in AB had become an authorized dealer, so I bought it through them.

I got mine through Cochrane as well.

But I mean is it really worth going through all this trouble trying to hide just paying the tax when you come back?

One of my friends tried doing it and ended up getting caught . What could've been $35 tax cost him a $250 fine and flagged so every time he goes over and cones back he gets checked .

I hate paying ups or who ever their bullshit brokerage fees so I rather just drive down but I don't see a point in trying to hide the stuff since if you're caught youre fucked. And they'll usually catch on if you're gone a short time .

Granted when I got my bed rack I went to visit family in NYC then droce back with it on not claiming .

But if you're just going to the mail boxes in Buffalo/Niagara all the CBSA knows to check and when you're only gone for the day? Even more obvious it's for shopping . And unlike Eugene who does it all the time but travels with a Russian passport, as soon as they see Canadian passport gone for the day it's pretty big flag for shopping.

Besides I've had CBSA let me go without paying even when declaring stuff .

And really not worth the risk if you get one of the ass holes that want to search. I've had it where even when claiming my snorkel the guy wanted to check my truck.
