Good description. Fireroad climbs blows but this route will drop you right in the middle of all the goods. Just be careful of fast thru-traffic

Thanks for the tip! Looks like that loop is marked on TF as Roam fest loop.

Not sure what size axle is on the Canyon but I use the Rocky Mounts Driveshaft Track for my Cannondale SuperSix which has a 12mm thruaxle.

    https://www.rockymounts.com/collections/adaptor-and-truck-mounts/products/driveshaft-track

The mount locks, which is nice, and it works with the accessory mount on the front of the truck bed if you first reverse the bed cap (I can take pictures if needed, but literally just take the cap off and flip it around and you get like 1/2” extra clearance).

What bike rack is that? I have the Rocky Mount, but have to put the bike sideways die to the length. I still haven't found the perfect Tacoma solution yet.

They are 1up racks bolted to kb voodoo 3" rise crossbars that are flipped. I have a longbed, my DH bike literally takes the entire length up, so if you have a shortbed this application may not work.

Snow is here, on the upper elevations anyway. Tried to go for a ride up there, got mostly shut down but managed to find a mostly rideable trail. Slipping and sliding around on some of those trails where I know there's roots and rocks underneath sure was entertaining.
This was as good as it got.

Do 1up roof racks bolt to the KB Voodoo crossbars seamlessly? I'm debating a 1up for my KB Hi Rise over tonneau cover bars. I have a short bed though. Guess I better do some serious measuring.

Yeah, just don't get the flush mount hardware. The 2" mount hardware worked perfectly .

I have a Yakima Holdup rack that is a few years old that would hit the tailgate even in the down position. I bought a new tongue from Yak and the new tongue does not have as much rise so in the down position it no longer hits. Yakima SKU: #8880580 is the new tongue. Since I called and submitted a support ticket they gave me a discount code.

What does everyone do for cold weather riding pants wise?

I usually rock a pair of old BDU pants that are slimmer cut, but looking for other options. Tights under baggies are not one of those options for me. DH pants maybe? Long, yet somewhat breathable and allow for pads underneath.

Also, went riding with a cute girl (that can shred) and her equally cute aussie dog this weekend. 11/10, highly recommend.

Actually been wondering this myself. I usually just grab my under armor base layer that I wear when I ski, and throw the DH pants on over it, but I've never worn that below 45 or so degrees.

baselayer + shorts if i'm doing a ton of climbing
baselayer + DH pants if it's a mild climbing or DH rig kind of day

+ wool socks because warm and moisture wicking

    https://www.mountainhardwear.com/me...ayer&dwvar_1677221_variationColor=090#start=2

mountain hardwear baselayers are great and fit super tight allowing you to still wear your knee pads without much worry for all that extra rub a dub dub

I went to go ride today to relieve a little bit of stress, was standing at my truck with the door open putting my helmet on and some wet muddy dog ran from behind me and jumped in my truck, was pretty pissed!

The guy was nice and did offer to pay to have it cleaned, was so pissed at that moment that I told him I would take care of it, now I wish I had accepted the offer.

that's good dude! it's not too bad, should buff out with an orbital. I love all dogs but owners need to get put in check. can't be letting their four legged companions jump on or in people's rigs.
