i recently bought an "07 dcab tacoma and i want to debadge and paint the badges black. But, i was wondering if the paint around the badges would be faded and when i took them off the paint that was under the badges would not be faded and it would still look like the badge was still there?

I just debadged 2 weeks ago and when I took them off I couldn't tell a difference in the paint.

I just debadged my SRP (dark red) after 12 years of very little paint maintenance. I live in Colorado where the sun is brutal in the summer and the winter roads do wonders on your paint.

At first I had "ghost writing" from where the badges were removed, but after some goo gone, a good wash, clay bar, polish and wax... you can't even tell.

With your '07 being a light silver (?) I guarantee you'd have no issues at all. You could probably get away with just a wash and quick detail and be 100% fine

You should be fine. Most paint fading occurs on upwards facing panels...none of which have badges on.

Plus an 07 is pretty recent.

I debadged my 08 a couple months ago that has never been parked in a garage, in So cal (always sunlight on it) and the paint was not any different color at all.
    You should be fine man
