    Both RTT and ground tents are gonna be cold at night so don't pack like its summer

    Yes that’s true, but nothing there says it’s warmer to sleep elevated. Read the article I posted, the ground will always be atleast 31, yet the air temperatures can drop in the negatives.

    For California it really doesn’t matter much because we rarely see temperatures much lower then 20s. I was just making the point to the original post about having to chisel the guy off the ground. Most important is setup, for cold weather air mattresses suck, foam is much warmer.

    Enjoy the trip guys, I will be plenty warm and broke on my trip to the most expensive place on earth.
