What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Was finding a ton of the 3m tape on. The bolt on was harder to find, finally settled on what I got which is “smoke”. There is a matte black bolt on that I found on realtruck.com but it’s over $100 https://www.realtruck.com/egr-matte-black-superguard-bug-shield/R183475P2017Y608MA.html

Yea those "smoke" ones look glossy to me, and I just think the matte looks better. At least now I do, I keep going back and forth, haha. I wish the AVS Bugflector II came in a matte finish, but I think that one is the glossy smoke only.

 

Did the kicker door speaker upgrade. Much better sounding than the JBL speakers. Will do my rears next for sure.

I feel like my 2014 was a way better built truck all-around than my 2018. Overall quality of this new one doesn't even feel close to the '14. And compared to a 4runner, it's night and day. Really surprised the Tacoma and 4Runner are priced so comparatively for what you get with each one.

 

I’m thinking of doing the same. Cost for powder coating 4 wheels? Thanks!

40k mile oil change. Way easier with the fumoto valve, no skid plate removal and no mess

 

$450 for wheels and center caps.

purchased at pep boys but they are on Amazon
The dome light is a very snug fit it made me nervous that I would mess something up.
I didn't think the lights did much but early morning and nighttime they look amazing

No matter what trim of Tacoma you buy, these grilles totally change the look and make them look badass!

 

I just wanted to keep stock rims. No worries about offset, hub diameter ect. The center caps were also powder coated.

 

I got them from Ultra Trim Auto Restyling Inc out of Carson, CA. Ask for Tom. They are an authorized Katzkin dealer. I can’t wait for them to arrive. I will be doing the install myself. Can’t wait.

 

Did You have to dismount the wheels? Any extra cost for that? Thanks again.

 

Yes.I am lucky to have a buddy that has a lift and tire mount/balance equipment. We left it on his rack for a couple of days while they were getting powder coated.

 

Put on bed racks for the winter. Going to mount a ski rack to it for me and the kids winter fun.

 

Rock Auto for the bumper end caps. Other members including myself have purchased them there. They are of equal or same quality as OEM and much less expensive than purchasing from a dealership. Matte black with a slight texture. If you're not into the chrome end caps this is the most economical fix and unlike and unlike Plastidip a permanent fix. Worth checking out.
