Thanks Mike. Have you thought about a different route for your stepside bumper?

Not yet Dave. I will do the CBI bumper once I complete some other crap 1st.
I'm ready to head out when you and Jason are.

As you probably noticed - the CBI also has the option for single or (in my case) dual swingouts. The photo here is before I put the arms on. Still mostly liking the bumper - will probably write a "year later" review in a few months, but happy to answer any questions you have.

I think that bumper is the one I'm going I get, do the license plate lights swap over easily enough? It looks like they do

Sort of. The rear of the CBI has a hole on each side of the plate.

Only the passenger one is for a light - and the OEM light fits there "OK." I had to get some slightly longer machine screws and nuts (vs. the OEM screws that are coarse thread and bite into plastic grommets), but once installed it's all good.

The driver side hole is for the trailer plug, though I've never been able to get CBI to tell me what plug would fit there. Strange.

Are you guys reinforcing your frame at all? I'm running an AllPro rear bumper but am looking to upgrade to the duel swing out CBI. I'm concerned about all the extra weight that far past the rear axle.

I did. Added CBI frame reinforcement plates. Pics and write-up here - https://adventuretaco.com/dont-skip-leg-day-reinforcing-the-rear-frame/

+1 for the frame plates. They improved the ride drastically.

We've done a lot of custom and some production ones over the years. Recently we discontinued a few of the production ones. We didn't make enough of them to justify keeping the parts around for them. Here are some of the past ones we've done.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a CBI Outback 1.0 with the duel swing out carrier. One thing I'm curios about is having the tire angled or straight? Is there an an advantage to having it angled?

If you're going up a steep incline/ledge it won't drag as bad.
