That's what's intriguing to me about this new Ranger. It's a proven platform overseas besides the engine and transmission which are new. It's been out awhile. The payload, towing, and torque are all higher numbers than the taco in the new engine and tranny. We just gotta see how the new engine and tranny perform with time.

I guess I don't understand the non US Market. I would have thought the Ranger Raptor was neant for a US market where you can get a premium for it.

I always thought other countries wanted 27mpg and a low price.

They do, but other countries get diesels in their midsize trucks to achieve that.

I think 2019 is going to be an interesting year for mid size trucks. We already have the Ranger now and then throw in the Jeep pickup, Taco will then get some good competition.

I've driven the diesel Ranger in Aussie/Fiji plenty of times and liked it. I know the US version is different engine/body style. Seriously considering picking up a '18 on a 2 yr lease with low payment, then return it and lease/buy the Ranger which would be 2nd year by then with most of the issues ironed out. OR just fall back to another Taco by then (hopefully with the 4.0L engine back in it by then;-)).

that was pretty funny but you never know some people have no clue about mechanical issues, by the way you have a great looking truck , I like my old 96 but the new models sure have a great look , I still think the ford raptor copied the look

With lots of money, you guys could arrange your buddy to get one over seas and have it shipped here to the states and be the envy here on this forum.
    WTF over.

Guys ...saw this on utube. 3 of the colors are demoed ...Probably the 1st video I've seen on the actual truck.

FOK...man..its looks better than the Taco IMO (so glad the US market got a different body style compared to the crappy Ranger in the asian market). The 4cy turbo engine alone makes it a worthy upgrade. 3 yr lease and call it a day.

??? There is not going to be a Ranger Diesel, so yeah I guess the Canyon wins by default.
