Trd pro grill or leave it be. Opinions on it for my truck, the silver sky color and how would it look with the newely installed lift and TRD 4 runner pro wheels in the matte grey. One idea was to paint the pro grill matte grey or leave it black. Just an idea. So how would it look on my truck?IMG_20181009_175704107_HDR.jpg

You can get them for about $100 on eBay, easily one of the best “cheap” mods to do IMO. Also I would leave it black, I think the contrast of grey/black looks better

My Pro grille came with silver TOYOTA letters which would look great on your Sky Silver.

I like the TRD Pro grill but it is getting a little played out at this point.

Then, I also like the option of painting or in some way resurfacing it (plastidip maybe?) If you do keep the stock grill get rid of the chrome. Personally the less chrome on a truck the better in my opinion.

The other option is aftermarket grills. I have seen a couple that I like, but there are a lot of ugly ones out there too. I always liked to debadge vehicles, so personally I would stay away from grills that have huge toyota lettering or incorporate the T logo.

Honestly if they had the 2018 cheese grater grill without a logo and chrome bezel in flat black or maybe gun metal grey I would consider swapping the pro grill on my Pro for something like that!

I hope someone comes out with some sort of option for a pro grill replacement that I like because I am not in any way married to the pro grill even on my pro.

I’m still having a hard time making this decision. I thought about keeping the 2018 grill and doing the black bezel. Then with that new aluminum TRD pro style grill that somebody made I’m having an even harder time making the decision. I love the look. Think I’d do the aluminum one over the faux pro.

When I bough the '16 Sport in black *profile pic* I put the pro grille on and it was a great update over the all chrome (braces) front end.

However, I now have an '18 Off Road and it is a mostly black grille with just the chrome trim so I might leave it. Especially with the stock rims.

I think a '16 or '17 is too much chrome for me... with an '18 I am on the fence.

Then again... it is a nice grille for a couple hundred bucks. (could I flip / flop more in this post lol )

edit: I need to update that profile pic...

Chrome does NOT belong on new trucks, especially these. And that’s coming from a designer

SR surround with the '18 grille looks best, IMO...

I haven't seen any pro grills on Tacomas in my area except for a pro. I look all the time. I have seen the knock off one on my neighbors truck and it looks great. It doesn't look like the same color as the pro.
