Some Traverse v6’s are easier, you can remove the windshield cowl and get to it like that. Can’t do that with the way the plenum is shaped on a Sienna.

I grew up an era with no car seats, we stood up in the back seat, jumped our BMX bikes off sweet jumps with no helmets, jacked it to Sears catalogs and played with steel toys made by Tonka. Somehow we all lived and health insurance was cheap. Now that car seats are mandated and bike helmets required health insurance is stupid expensive

 

At least my brakes worked.

 

I'm just prepared to remove em anyway, it's always the upper manifold so its a quick removal and theres no coolant in those. Funny enough the engine in my Z is in the Mercury Villager and Ford Windstar and Nissan was nice before they licensed it out and made the intake manifold have cutouts for spark plugs haha.

I see all the pictures of you working on the Z and it just seems infinitely simpler to work on that some modern engines. That picture of the upper bell housing bolt access is amazing. I wish our bolt was that easy to access.

 

And you’d really prefer working on an engine inside of a passenger cabin, under the driver’s seat?

Don't let it fool you, I only let you view it in the best light, you should have seen how they hide the driveshaft in that car. It has it's own driveshaft cover shield and the exhaust hangs out below it so I had to remove the entire exhaust before i could pull the DS. But overall I would say Nissan is very conscious about how they design things for serviceability. For being a tightly packed wedge shaped sports car it isn't the worst thing to wrench on.

 

I found out you could get 80 series cruisers like mine in Evergreen Pearl and I regret mine's shiny redness now

Kinda considered painting the Z Evergreen Pearl actually, I'm not a huge fan of black. The Tacos body is too fucked for paint.
