    I briefly brought it up to my Boss (owner) and if there's enough interest, it is definitely doable. The only thing is most private customers that want work done, are surprised by the quotes we give them. The positive is, I could do a lot of the work, and save money for us all there. Model it up in Solidworks and programming could be done by me with help from the other guys.. then it would just be material and machine cost.

    I'll pick up one of those tensioners for reverse engineering and go from there. It might be a waaaays out tho. I do have Autodesk at home so I can play with it there in my off time as well.

    We definitely have the capabilities...

    HAAS everything.. (4) 5 axis Mills, (6) 3 axis Mills, and (2) live tooking lathes. Plus a waterjet and misc equipment.

    In for the details. I’d try claiming mine under warranty and hope they don’t notice stealth 2.85 pulley. Doesn’t help much after going to the next pulley size, but I’m not going lower than 2.7. What sizes are guys running that have had it break?

    they have some good info regarding the spring rates and travel length, etc. I informed them of what our issue was and what we are trying to do. Hopefully they are willing to share some insight or tips for making a custom billet piece. maybe even have something that we can use.. idk. figured it would be a good place to start.

    Nice! I really needed to better utilize my free access to equipment like that when I was in school. Especially when lots of the materials were free too.

    I should have went to school... :rolleyes: I've learned everything on the job and on my own by just playing around and trial and error. Solidworks and modeling. 3D printing, machining, and now learning programming by these well experienced guys here at work. Started school for graphic design.. and hated that it was all computer based.. :facepalm: now here I am.. after getting a taste of design and manufacturing.. I loved it.

    Nice shop! We have (4) 3 axis mills, (1) 3 axis 30k rpm mill, (1) cnc lathe, (3) wire EDMs, (4) sinker EDMs. Mixture of mostly Sodicks, 2 HAAS, and 2 Mazaks. What do you guys specialize in if that's open for discussion? We do OEM plastic injection tooling.

    Also, those guys you e-mailed seem to use the same tensioner but double stacked?

    Nice! Wish we had a EDM so we didn't have to outsource that part. Lol I forget the speed on our High rpm mill.. might be a 30k.. maybe even a 50k. We mostly do Aerospace and Medical. Tight tolerance stuff. .0001. plus or minus nothing. But we do everything.

    Yeah I saw that.. that's why I emailed them and even mentioned that they might have something similar or close. Maybe just a starting point. So we'll see
