What is the weight limit, could I mount 3 - 5 lbs of electronics at one time on the dash top mount?

    Thanks,

I haven’t done any destructive testing to find the real limit, however the DMM is more than strong enough to hold 5 lbs. the weak point in this system is actually the way Toyota attaches the trim to the vehicle.
I wouldn’t do 5 pounds while off reading.
For regular street driving I think 5lbs would be ok as long as you don’t use super long arms because torque multiplication.
I would do incremental tests before slapping 5lbs.

I finally got mine and haven’t installed it yet, was just putting together the phone mount. It says made for small tablets, but I can’t seem to fit my iPhone XS Max in it. Am I putting it together wrong?

I got two sets of arms.

Yeah you might be doing something wrong. I know it definitely fits the xs max and even bigger phones. I used to have a 7 plus which is basically the same height...

I don’t think you even need to use the long legs for that but did you?
The mount stretches in one direction, it is spring loaded...

The problem is the phone is too tall for the mount vertical and not wide enough for the phone horizontal.

Also What do you mean mount stretches. Are you talking about the arms or the backing plate?

Received mine yesterday and installed today. Install was super easy. Just takes a little common sense.
I’m super happy with it. Clean finish, very sturdy for my phone and full size iPad. Can’t go wrong with this thing for the price especially compared to competitors that are asking $160 for similar products or something that limits the direction you can move your air vents. 5 stars! Thanks!

A minor mod to the mod. This summer I saw the bushings reflect in the windshield on one or two occasions. Definitely minor and also keeping in the blackout tradition, I painted the base and bore of the RAM balls and the bushings:

Just mounted mine. I used a 3/16" drill bit. Worked great. Looking for a better mount for ipad!

Anyone having issues with their ball moving around? I tightened the ball, but it still slides around. Any way to solve this?

Maybe some sort of rubber washer? @FreshMexicanTaco

Also FWIW I like the arkon phone holder better than the ram. Easier to work, and I personally thing it looks better. Here is a pic of both.

Is the ball rotating or is the arm slipping on the ball? I have experienced neither. You should be able to tighten the ball until it doesn't rotate. If the arm is slipping, tighten it some more?
