Dont skimp on the seat brother, look at Britax. Best safety record.

Keep the taco and find yourself a used camry to cart the kid around in. Great safety record, reliable (of course) and roomy enough. More kids in the future, then get a soccer van.

I saw the saddest dog today. It was a midget dog but was in a sweater to make it look like a pink rabit. Gf thought it was adorable until I opened my mouth. "It's eyes says kill me" as I reached for my 45.

Fair enough, was just curious :)

I hated hearing the same advice when I was in that spot. "HURR DURR just get a REAL JoOb" from people who don't really get how it is difficult to get anything part/full that pays more than minimum wage. Best/worst job I found as a student was making $2/hr more than minimum wage painting state owned apartments on a college campus

Yup those would be the big three, I'd also add the ECT sensor (not the one for the gauge) to that list

What are the different ways that mileage is calculated? Not trying to argue or anything, I'm curious now since you stated that.

Different vehicles will differ on how accurate the speedo is calibrated. Many vehicles don't have an accurate speedo, they will read 2-3mph faster than true actual speed intentionally. Radar readings can vary too depending on how the laser bounces off the vehicle.

I calibrated my ultra gauge with gps and then I do the calculations depending on how much I add to the tank and how many miles the UG clicked since previous fill up. Should be accurate enough.

Here’s what they were saying on that Facebook thread about me.

And thanks for the kind words everyone, afraid I napped through the height of it. I’m just a poor college kid who’s trying to make some income on the side while not holding a full time job. It’s paid well for me, and I really enjoy what I do.

Test first, although a MAF underwater is extremely likely to be fouled anyway so that's probably a gimme. TPS is super easy to check first

Yeah, very true about the radar they could vary yet I have to say my Speedo has been dead accurate with the radar reading at different speeds over 100 times on dozens of different radars...

As for the way mileage is measured honestly I forget.. some tacos it's a gear others it's wheel rotation... Can't be bothered looking it up but 31s, 32s, and 33s all give me the same numbers as far as Speedo and odo.

The problem for me is that I live in such a small town (about 13,000 people) that there just aren’t very many job opportunities available for kids my age. Luckily I found the lifeguarding which was okay for a few years but I also work part time for a kettle corn vendor at our local 3-weekend festival. He actually pays really well, $10/hour in cash plus whatever tips I earn (today I made $56 in tips in 8 hours, all cash). Sadly, it’s onky 6 days out of the year that I help him.

This summer, I am also going to try to do something at my dads dental office for some cash maybe. It would also be helpful since it’s what I wanna do after 7 years of school.

I did similar. I calibrated my UG using GPS while at speed instead of distance traveled. I took readings at 60, 70, & 80mph and averaged it as the stock speedometer is not accurate at various speeds.

I have a Dakota Digital so I calibrated my stock speedo using GPS at speed first prior to calibrating my UG. Otherwise the UG readings with get thrown off if you adjust the stock speedo after.

I've got my stock speedo pretty close to actual speed, enough that I'm happy to trust it. But again the accuracy varies as you get to faster speeds.

I averaged mine as well haha, great minds think alike. I can't change my gauge without changing the gear cause I have the cable driven speedo :/ So the UG makes a good enough speedo once calibrated.

And then you complain of being poor. Im rolling in around $150-$200 a week. I work 20-30 hours a week while Im in school. $8.50 an hour. Its fuels my truck addiction and allows me to set some asside in a savings account.
