Heavy duty grille for taco

Saw this grille today
I like it . I can mount fog lights on it and it offers great protection for lights.
Can somebody point me to a link so I can get prices?

 

You are looking for a grille gaurd not just a grille. Go to Amazon and look there are hundreds of options. Now that being said, this will not protect you in any kind of accident. It will most likely do more damage than you would have started with.

How about deer?

 

To be fair that brush guard WILL protect your more fragile front end components. Grille, plastic bumper, headlights etc. but only in a low speed collision. Any accident at higher speeds could end up damaging your frame rails because of how it attaches to the truck.

I have an Avid bar on my 2013 DBL Cab.I recently hit a deer and was thankful that it was there. It's not full blown Armor but I was glad I had it. I drive from Reno to SF all the time at dusk/dawn- deer are around (not like Sourthern NH- I have family in Durham, NH!)

A brush guard isn’t doing anything to the frame rails. I don’t blame you for absurd statements like this because no doubt you read it here on this forum, and are repeating it.

Please don’t take it personal for me calling it absurd. TW has a shitty habit of not bothering to be accurate, so this post is clarifying that that is nonsense.

A 150 lb bumper made out of 1/4” steel plate that bolts to the frame rails with big bolts and lots of plating is much different than a 60 lb brush guard made out of hollow, thin walled tubing.

Sometimes you hit the deer's hip, which causes the head to spin around into the rocker panel, so you get door damage as well.

Friend's vegan wife totaled her Prius hitting a deer. Greatest irony ever.

 

If the impact is severe enough it ain’t gonna matter. I’m glad it’s there 99 percent of the time (haven’t had the pleasure of the other 1 percent)

Yep... Durham/Lee NH. A ton of Deer there that get owned on a regular basis on those roads.

When my car hit the deer I was going around 45 or 50. My car has a lift so the deer was pretty much level with that Avid Bar. I encountered some front end damage but the frame is true etc. It was in the shop and no where near an insurance total scenario.

Some of the guys I know around here swear by those Deer Whistles to help.
Not sure how much data is out there on if they really work.

 

I hit that bad boy pretty fast too. Wish I would of had that bumper longer, but I am glad I had it for that hit, otherwise I know for a fact the taco would of been totaled.

Or is this more voodoo science?

 

Those things are just for looks until you get into a collision and they fold over and crush everything.

 

If the impact is strong enough to gold that thing over, wouldn't the stuff behind said folded over guard be crushed anyway?
