I would rather pay more and get a nice looking wheel that has a better offset for what you’re looking for, than bolt a spacer in between my hub and wheel. Just another part that could potentially fail- which is pretty scary when you’re thinking about a rotational part.
    I’d never run spacers.

    Just my .02

On my way to Moab saw this Jeep off to the side of the road near Salt Lake. If you run spacers check them, blue loctite them. I have run them on my previous Jeeps with no major issues. Only issues I have run into was when I lived temporarily back east. One nut on a spacer got really corroded and almost wouldn’t come off. Would have been a nasty fix if the spacer was stuck on.

I have bora 1” spacers now but tomorrow new offset rims go on.

Spidertrax come with the much stronger RED locktite.

There could be any number of reasons the wheel came off that Jeep.

Any claims that 1.25” spacers are bad on a Tacoma OEM wheel are simply unfounded. Overwhelming body of evidence over a decade to support this.

As others here have said- if someone wanted wheels with better offsets, they would not be on this thread.

I rocked Bora spacers for over 5 yrs. Literally forgot they were on there..

It's funny how nobody worries about the 6 regular lugnuts holding the wheel on coming off or getting loose.

But as soon as you put hub-centric spacers on, which are bolted onto the axle in the exact same way, all of a sudden guys start to worry the nuts are going to magically start backing off.

Nuts don’t break magically. It’s ignorance of maintaining an extra element with spacers

What kind of "maintenance" are you referring to?

Just the simple torque check with each tire rotation.

ran spidertrax for a few years, no issues, but after having them off and new offset rims on instead, the latter feels noticeably better to drive.

What’s the “maintenance” on them like? Do you retighten them every certain amount of miles?

Less than 1”, you’ll need to get shorter studs. I wouldn’t even bother running spacers for less than 1”.

I'm at zero offset and 4.5"bs, so I'm dialed in, but I'm also changing to different tires so just considering different things. even 0.75" would be way too much poke for me. doubt I'll do them, just bouncing ideas.

So I got them. I've ran them for 700 miles I pulled wheels and they look good, and all lugs are tight no issues so far

Noticed braking is a little different but ride seams more stable like it's tracking better on the road

I’ve had on bora 1.5” spacers for about 700 miles now, been off-roading and everything and haven’t had any problems. You just have to get hub centric quality sets like spidertraxx or bora. Also make sure you torque them down to the proper specs.

a good spacer properly installed is far safer than a cheap, low quality wheel
