^You just replaced the rear section? Be sure to give 'er on the highway to test it out... for science. :burnrubber:
Was this the press tool you got? https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/ball-joint-u-joint-service-kit/A-p8354714e

Gas tank skid will require you to get replacement tank straps with studs. A bit of extra work to replace. It gets heavy, too, due to the large area. Recommend aluminum skid because the tank is level with the frame in most areas, so it doesn't see impacts most of the time.

happy its all back together. What tool did you get for the u joints? I just got a complete shaft from a 2006 tacoma. Im sure its going to need new joints and bearings.

and yes I got a pelfreybilt gas tank skid. However it only covers the bottom. Not sure if it would protect against the shaft hitting the tank. I went steel because of price and because I am a retard and aluminum most likely won't hold up.

Yeah this, gas tank skids are easy. Measure LxW go get a Aluminum sheet that size in 3/16.

Then i just took my gas tank straps off, welded on new supports and brackets to drill holes into so i could bolt on the sheet of aluminum. Its above the frame rail so it was have to be a very weird situation to hit it hard, more for a little scrap here and there.

Powerfist 3 piece set at Princess Auto for $100. They have another one for $79, which I wanted, but it was sold out.

They flag the individual. Once flagged you will be stopped and searched every time you cross the border. Don't lie at the border. They can charge you up to 60% of the value of the item if you lie. They have more power and authority then any police. Be respectful and truthful. Most of the time they will let shit slide... If you don't lie.

Yeah, it's not worth it to try and save a few dollars.
I thought we were going to get into more trouble.

Old man overland. Got a few extra overland points this weekend adding this and a rigid light. Still unsure about this as its so much weight but damn its useful

I didn't think led lights were so heavy *shrugs*. I'm sure it'll pull its own weight tho! Have confidence in cheby!

Honestly the rigid light is surprisingly heavy compared to cheap Amazon lights i have. Not the point but ya.

Oh i love the cheby over my previous tacoma. More power and 8 speed, much more enjoyable to drive everyday

Maybe @Joe23 needs it to complete his overland build? :spy:

Looking at all possible setups and ideas from the web I am set on purchasing a slide in camper, after I upgrade my suspension next summer to BP-51s, cause FOXesssss wearing out quickly from all the abuse I do to them... :annoyed:

If i had a six foot bed (i did once but im stupid) id use a cap or something like that. Have everything inside and a sleeping set up, super easy and ready to go. Only way i keep this cap is if i cam figure out a decent way to sleep in it. But 5ft bed and 6ft me doesn’t really work

They sell campers for 5 ft beds as well, you are sleeping at the top ( above the cab), so it doesn't really matter what bed length you have.

Driving on dirt roads for more than 1 hour in North America is considered overlanding. :rimshot:

I harvested more wood from the queen's forest this weekend. I now have way to much split and stacked oak. I have an addiction to splitting wood that must stop.
