Glorious! One day I'll explore Baja. Might even stay down for several months post retirement.

Sleeping off the ground (and on a 4" memory foam mattress) will definitely spoil you compared to tent cmping.

    Just the basics
Looks like a great setup. What trailer is that?
Having a set up like this, or any with rigid walls, is better in wind too.

I'm currently doing my homework on a off road teardrop trailer. Nice set up, is that a home built project trailer? Well executed if it is!

Rolled the dice on a camp spot not far from Elephant Hill. Got lucky as hell and found the only open spot(next to bathroom and wash sink) that evening. Canyonlands is beautiful.

I spoil myself these days. I sleep in the back of my truck. I have a bed rug and a 3" queen-size memory foam topper in the bed. My wife loves it. The truck is always ready to go. Just one step to setting up camp - fold down the tail gate. We end up camping a lot more because of this. Its not bad to do a single night trip.

Thanks fellas, it is a trailer we built ourselves, based on a standard 5'x8' cargo trailer. So far it's been a great route to go, love the rigid insulated walls and ability to store all our gear in there and just hook up and go. We still have some interior work to finish, but it's getting there.

Here's the build thread on TW for more details: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-off-road-worthy-5x8-camper-build.569960/

Very cool build! Wish I had the skill set to do something like that. Instead I'll end up paying a ton of money for someone else to build me one :spending:

You have the skills to EARN the money to afford to pay someone to build it...that's still winning sir
