from a utility perspective what are the most useful mods?

Want to get some rock sliders and ditch/roof/grille lighting for “da trails”

Anyone selling some on the cheap?

    What are you top mods?

Yeah I need tires bad, watched a guy do some off-roading on his BFG k02s and was eating it up. Once my Goodyear Wranglers are toast I’ll upgrade for sure

What do you plan on using it for mostly? I take mine to the mall so in order of most important:

    Tonneau (to cover the groceries)
    Floor mats (kids are messy)
Pro grille and plasti dip badges (I like looking out my window and seeing my truck looks nice)

If you are going off roading? Idk.... I still have the stock street tires on mine lol

Mods would depend on how the truck is used.

From pure utility you should start with these before any others.

    AC drain mod
    Rear differential breather mod
    Pop n lock power tailgate

They are small, cheap, easy to do, and address some issues everyone can agree on.

AC drain mod prevents frame rusting
Rear diff mod prevents debris from getting into your rear differential through the breather valve
And let's be honest, we all wished our trucks had come with a power tailgate. :)

After those minor things are done id start looking at the protect, lift, light options. At the very least do the first two.

    Welcome to tw!

Thank you, what protection do you recommend? I did the AC mod shortly after buying the truck and reading the cheap mod forum.

Is the rear diff mod necessary if I don’t believe I will be driving through high water?

But power tailgate sounds like a must, I would like to get the mounts for a hi lift, and gas cans as well

Well I've heard of people getting small rocks/chips/dirt stuck in the valve. So even without the water I would probably want to move it to a location that is a little less prone to the elements. Since there's no downside really to moving it, id rather be safe than sorry ultimately. Also, make sure you engage your rear diff from time to time to check it for leaking oil.

By protection I mean front mid and rear skid plates. And make sure you get em nice and thick. Like 3/16in or they won't be any better than the flimsy stock front plate.

For hi jack and gas can mounts I'd get the molle panels by Caliraised. They look fricken sweet and you'll have a lot more options if you want to mount additional stuff later on. If you're thinking of getting a cap, that's a whole other story. You can mount the gas outside etc. The world is your oyster man it's a fresh truck!

Check out mesojdm's build thread and ktjo 4x4 they both have awesome set ups and will probably give you lots of ideas.
