so about 2 weeks ago someone cut me off and i had to slam the brakes down so they wouldn't hit me. after that i noticed about 2 days later a clicking noise from the brakes when i press on the brake pedal. it will happen when i am driving around 15-35 MPH. don't notice it over that but might still be doing it but just harder to hear. i checked over the brakes and the brake pads still have a good amount of pad left on them. i did see that one of the springs on one side popped out. i put that back in thinking that was what was wrong. well the sound keeps on happening.

anyone got any ideas on what the sound is and what can be done to fix it?

    Thanks,

i am not sure on that. to be honest it more than a clicking noise. its like the thud. like the pad is slamming on the rotor when i brake. like someone slapping a wall sound.

Sounds like the common pad slap. New pads with proper cleaning and grease will usually get rid of the noise. Both my 08 and 14 needed this done.

is there anything that can be done without getting new pads and rotors right now? also any safety issue with this slapping? brakes seem to be working fine. would new springs help?

No. You must take the pads off, clean everything and reassemble using a caliper grease. You shouldn’t need new rotors, but I used new pads and the slap hasn’t come back. For now.
