Because I already have a 4Runner that is the primary kid hauler. Chances are it will only be one of the two kids with me and I'll be the only adult in the truck.

Congratulations! I had a 2010 Access cab and the rear facing car seats just won't fit. I dont think the seat would even click in the upmost position these rear facing seats are so big! My wife has a 2013 Corolla S and we all barely fit in it! So...I sold the Tacoma and bought a 2006 GX470.
We had our twin boys on April 17th. I will get another truck someday. I actually try not to think about it too much, cause it does bum me out.
Twins! woohoo! It's a roller coaster! The boys are 6 months old (though they were 6 weeks premature), and sleeping almost 8 hours every night! Its a good thing they smile and laugh at me, or it wouldn't be worth it! LOL! Best of luck!

One was born with a birthmark on his inner thigh. To this day, we still threaten them that if they ever try to trick us, we'll make them drop their pants.

Either wrap it before you tap it or look forward to trading in for a minivan.

Congratulations!! They will keep you on your toes. I had to get rid of my access cab when my daughter was born because the rear facing car seat wouldn't work in the access cab. It was a Ford Ranger and it was starting to have running issues, which mad it easier to get rid of. My wife figured I could use her sedan for back and forth to work, and we would get a mini van. Ugh! I only agreed if it had some sport to it. We got a Sienna with aluminum wheels, tinted/privacy glass and a factory spoiler on the rear hatch. Sporty I guess? It has served us well over the years. My step son was 9 when we bought it plus we got it because our daughter was born plus we had another daughter five years later. I'm glad we had the space. We still have the mini van, now with almost 200,000 miles on it. My step son has moved out, the girls are now 9 and 5 and now we have my mother in law with us. Traded the strollers for a wheel chair. May have to replace the van in another year, but if it continues to look good and run good, we'll keep it. I was finally able to get my double cab Tacoma last year. It's been almost 8 years without a truck.

Ya, the guy I bought my taco from sold it to me because of kids. With one child seat in the back, the front seats have to be all the way forward. Thank God I'm single with no such problem lol

No money, all went to truck...
    No way for access cab.

I have 2 kids in double cab and it's fine. I'm 5'9" and don't have any issues. They are both in booster seats now.

The rear facing seats widely vary in size. Best to ask sales associate at a store if you can test fit the seats in whatever vehicle you own.

I bought the graco 35 and tried it in the access cab. No go. So I traded for a DBL cab shortbox and have no regrets. We go camping and are planning on having 2 kids, so I needed 2 spots.

Mind that even with the DBL cab it's not comfortable for me to be in the passenger seat (I'm 6'3").

I have a double cab and a 3 month old baby. Baby seat has to go in the middle unless 5 foot tall. Tried behind the seat of the passenger side. But wife said she would not ride any distance cause you have to have the seat upright eating the dashboard. I am buying a crew cab f150 now . After three Tacoma's time to have a big boy truck.

Actually first set are both girls, not identical, second set - boy and a girl (yet many non thinking people (AKA dumb) when seeing the 2 car seats or strollers would ask if they were identical????......so, rich in great children none the less. For us, it almost became a hassle, when shopping anywhere with all 4 or just 2, my wife and I would always separate and take an older and a younger child each, just to avoid the questions from strangers, some really rude...are they natural? or did you have medical help? are they adopted? do twins run in your family? I don't mean to get off topic for the OP, I hope you can keep your truck, but more importantly hope the rest of the pregnancy goes well and everyone gets home healthy. Best of luck.....I have to get back to counting my pennies, still try to figure out 8 years of double college tuition! Bill inMA

I have an 06 access cab and a one month old. With the Graco 4in1, which is huge, I can put my daughter in the back behind the passenger seat. The front passenger seat is pushed all the way forward making it not to great for my wife who is 5’5. It’s doable but not great.
No way can it be done with two infants in the access cab....
