So, after doing some thinking I've decided to scrap the 5-Lug.

I tried to register it with the Vermont registration, and it almost went through until the DMV clerk had a flag in his computer from the VIN. It had been previous registered in California, so I'd have to pay the original backfees of about $2,000 before I could transfer it. I decided at this point it wasn't worth the hassle. I could sell it in the other 49 states, however the 5-Lug is profoundly worthless with the mileage it has without the California Tacoma premium.

Fret not, it won't all be for nothing. The reason I bought this truck in the first place was so I could practice engine and body work, which I still get to do as...

The 450,000 mile 5VZ is going on @Sperrunner 's 1996 frame. So its legacy will live on. And I still get to rebuild it.

The cab, however, is fuckered because of the VIN. I might cut the VIN plates off and try to sell the cab.

    And that's that.

That said, it seems more like Musk was just removing the option of pre-ordering the self driving car because it was creating confusion, and people thought you could buy one right now. I'm sure if anyone put some money down on something like that they signed a pretty lengthy release notice.

true, I don't know any details about it but I'm sure it was more of an investment on the part of the people who put money down...knowing that investments don't always pay off but they would've been first in line if it had. Most of those people probably find $5k in the seat cushions of their sofas so it probably didn't matter much lol.

Same. I touched nothing back in 2008-9.

Just save what you can, live to keep debt low.

I'm not wasting time or stressing myself playing the market. I don't need that headache.

Had a pretty crazy weekend this week, that made me do some thinking about how I need to organize my truck and carry some additional items in it for emergencies..

Saturday night at about 930 me, my girlfriend and my 16 year old brother were driving home and were the first on scene of a very serious accident, guy had blown a corner and gone head first into a tree, I ran over to the truck (side airbags had gone off so I couldn't see in) opened the door to see if anyone was still in the truck.
Only person in the truck was the driver, slumped over unconscious and covered in blood, with a 2-3 inch gash in his forehead down to the bone, I told my girlfriend to call 911 and get help on the way and tell them what his condition was.

I didn't want to move him or anything especially with him knocked out so I just made sure he was breathing and then held on to him so he wouldn't fall out of the truck, talking to him trying to wake him up, about 2-3 minutes later he started to come too, I realized then that I actually knew the guy, told him not to move and that we had help coming, ambulance and cops arrived and took him to the hospital.

Story is he was falling asleep about a mile back and the next thing he remembers he was in an ambulance, luckily he should be okay with no long term damage, truck is a total write off though.

Lessons I learned, for one, I need my road flares easier and faster to access in my truck, I need easier and faster access to medical gloves and first aid, and I'm gonna start carrying a tourniquet as well in case it had been more serious.

Don't drive if you're falling asleep, don't drink and drive, and wear a damn seat belt, just a friendly reminder

Yeah. I mean, tons of people put money down on the 3, and are only just now starting to see their cars come in. It was delayed several times, but he's finally starting to make good on that.

Musk probably found the $20m from his SEC fine in his couch, lol

Actually. Looks like it just popped out all the way. Make sure it’s sitting square to the caliper and push it in. Your going to probably have to bleed the brakes

Exactly. The way the computer algorithms trade by the millisecond, there's no way to realistically try and keep up with daily trading.
