I think I told this story before, but when my brother rolled my CRX he took the worst of it. His head was pushed out when we flipped (landed on driver-side A-pillar) and dragged along the ground. When we stopped sliding, I look over and he's out cold, blood just pouring from his head (we were up-side-down).

Nothing like seeing your dead brother to get your adrenaline going. He wasn't dead, but that's what I thought for a few seconds then he came to, and I helped him out of the wreckage.

We were on a mountain road with almost no one around. We started hiking to a farm house nearby when a passerby stopped. He has a roll of paper towels and a cell phone (not that common back then). Whole roll went on my brother's head, and we waited for EMS. medics thought I was the primary victim since I had his blood all over me (like my shirt was soaked) from pulling him out of the car. They kept insisting I was in shock.

Later, the insurance adjuster who looked at the car said he'd never seen that much blood in a car that wasn't fatal.

Yeah even after they took him he was fading in and out all the way to the hospital, so I'm glad we reacted as seriously as we did.
Also something to think about and plan for, while I had no plan to move him (I don't have the gear or training to get somebody out of a car if they have a neck/back injury) is even if you can't do it safely, you gotta be ready to do it to the best of your ability if somebting happened like the vehicle catching on fire, thankfull that wasn't an issue

Only time I think I may have helped someone in a dire situation was when I was a young and dumb teenager...a friend of mine took too many Oxycontin (didn't know he was on anything at the time) and as I was driving him somewhere he passed out. By the time I noticed he hadn't said anything in awhile, I looked over and he was as blue as a blueberry. It scared the ever living fuck out of me. I pulled the car over immediately and started slapping the shit out of him as hard as I could, after a few good smacks he came to and took the biggest gasp of air I've ever heard or seen anyone take, and he instantly went from blue to normal color again. Was freaky shit.

For the next couple of hours me and another friend kept him awake until the pills he took wore off. In hindsight he should have been taken to the hospital but we were young and dumb and trying to avoid getting into trouble. But that situation could easily have changed both our lives for the worse going forward, him most of all.

Are you sure the Piston is completely strait. It has very tight clearance and wonr go in even at a slight angle

No I me t after you get it back I. You’ll have to bleed it. You just have to get the piston to go in straight then it’ll pop back in

Anyone have a junk yard near them with 99-01 4runners? Want the clear climate control faceplate instead of my orange tinted one, checked all my local yards and no dice. Don’t really want to pay $75 for the new part.
