Did 5100s/5160s and regret not springing for the full 6112s in front. The 5100s are pretty stiff (lot of compression damping) and adding pre-load to the stock coil does not help the situation. The 5160 valving seems to be a great compromise between ride and performance. I have also taken the these offroading a handful of times (light to moderate rock crawling and slow, wash-boarded roads) and the 5100s have gotten significantly hotter (too hot to touch) than the 5160s. I could easily see overreaching their capabilities even in "normal" offroading. With the Fox 2.0 fluid capacity being similar to the 5100 I could also imagine having the same issue.

Your Welcome!! I’m probably in every thread on 6112s when people do a search lol. Obviously better systems out there, but 6112/5160 combo should be the minimum on lifting, really no reason to be going 5100s/OME setup these days. I wouldn’t be surprised if I upgrade to the 8112/8100 though in 2019 or 2020

Never a reason to go 2.0 on the big brand names. If you gonna spend money on a lift it better be a minimum of 60mm piston and 2.5” body.

Ome BP-51 is kinda weird....great system from what I understand from reviews but it uses a 51mm piston.... where as other systems at the same price use a 60mm piston

Agreed. I think that's sound advice. Thank you for the pro-tip.

Absolutely no spacer lifts. No way. With the bigger wheels/tires, I kind of have to do it right, as you said. I intend on doing that. I just need to consider which is the right way to go and you guys have been giving me excellent advice to consider.

Also, that's not a bad cost either. Also, when you say 3 pack AAL do you mean a 3 leaf stack?

5100's front and rear with OME coils= roughly $515.00
    6112's (assembled) front with 5160 rears= roughly $1,083.00

Only about twice the cost... That's a gigantic reason :rofl:Especially for what its going to be used for. "Fun" 2wd wheeling. You don't need a 2.5" shock

I have an in on Bilstein so I can get them at near cost from the factory. I just need to basically wait sometimes because orders like mine get pushed down in priority. I'll call my Bilstein buddy and see how much I can get them for.

Due to popularity the price is now that. Last year you could get them 800-900 range. So maybe my last message isn’t so accurate now.

Not bad, keep in mind that price I'm assuming is without the coil assembled. Shops normally charge to assemble them or you can use your own/rent spring compression tool. Shops charge around $60-100.

I generally agree with the whole buy once, cry once thing. Unfortunately, my wife is not a big fan of dropping money on truck crap so I "sneak" stuff in when I can. 6112s were also unicorns when I was looking.

Shop didn’t charge me. Place charged me 475 for complete install with alignment to include UCAs. I paid extra 100 bucks for ecgs bushing.
